There was nothing that stood out as a come back feature. It was not a quick bit by any means. Two plates took about 30 minutes to bring to the table. Sadly it was bearly warm when it arrived. The rolls and corn bread offerings could have been a very nice welcome. Sadly to eat the corn bread, one must already have a drink, as it will turn to dust in your mouth. The rolls might have been okay if the butter used wasn’t so cheap that you could taste nothing but vegetable oil. The country fried steak with brown gravy, mashed potatoes and Mac and cheese was the order. The only think that rated in the okay market was the steak patty, that very much seemed frozen. The breading was bland. The entire dish was a verity of the same bland tasteless items. The biggest difference was texture. Would not come back.. The only way I would come back with someone, is if my goal was to torture the individual. The only thing that I wasn’t horrible were the onions. A comparison for a final thought. If you remember K-Marts caffateria food, this will jog your memory of that.

Service was terrible and they were not busy. We had to ask for drink refills. On top of that there was lipstick remnants on one of our cups from a prior guest. When asking how side items were prepared the server said “it’s mushy” and she wasn’t wrong! Macaroni and mashed potatoes were drier than the desert. For sure NOT homemade. Everything must have come from a box, can, or bag. 1000% would not recommend if you actually want a meal you will finish.

Service was very poor. We were never offered refills , had to ask for them and for the price of everything I expect the food to have been better and considering it’s called a country kitchen better portion size too for the price. We would ask for simple small condiments like some hot sauce and never received it. Oh and they charge you if you get any type of takeout container for your food or drink. So no I don’t recommend this place.

Wonderful country style food like your mom use to make!! Cozy corner café in the Firehouse Subs strip mall. Two servers working hard to accommodate the crowd. Must try the fried chicken livers which were super hot and crispy!! Rice with gravy was ok and the green beans as well. The light fluffy yeast roll with a splash of melted butter was heavenly and I could have ester 6 more. But didn’t. Try this place, very delicious and friendly service!!

We ordered a Fried Pork Chop plate and I had a Hamburger Steak plate. Food was good and the server was extremely nice and polite. Very quiet atmosphere. Really like the server.

No Brick Walls
We were pretty hungry when we came in to eat. Waitress was very sweet and food arrived to our table in just a few minutes. Menu said potatoes are real and waitress also said they were real. So maybe they were, but there was a grainy texture to them and absolutely no flavor. Pintos that I got as well as collards that husband got were also not seasoned- very bland. Meatloaf had good flavor but had soggy, soft texture. Price was a fair one at $7.99 a plate. Probably would not go again unless I knew they began to season their foods.

OMG YOU MUST TRY THIS PLACE!!! The fried pork chop, WOW Is all I can say. I had country fried steak today, all I can say is SMH. We are visiting from Atlanta it’s amazing and cheap! We will be eating here for the next few days. Already thinking about what I am eating tomorrow. Lol

I’m picky about pork but now and than I crave a good old fashioned fried pork chop! Woooh! Always great here and always tender! Emphasis on Tender!!! This is the place……..add your “3” and desert and you’ll be a happy camper, ready for a nap. Unfortunately, you’ll deal with the worst waitress ever . It’s the food I go back for. Service was good despite the waitress not understanding my request to have my beans in a separate bowl instead of on the same plate with the rest of the meal. Pinto beans were a tad bland (some pepper sauce would have perked them up). The dressing was bland, even after adding salt. However, the chicken fried steak, hamburger steak, gravies (both white and brown), and mashed potatoes were very good. It should be noted that the mashed potatoes are real, not instant.
