Went to the Amboy Family Restaurant for a late lunch our waitress was very nice it was her first day but she was very helpful. There was another woman in there that was not friendly or helpful. The restaurant is your run of the mill family restaurant nothing special and a bit run down but it is clean.

New Cook on the grill. The food is excellent. I’m a soup fan, and there is always a soup available. Steve’s famous chicken fingers are excellent. Asking for special items is never a problem. Theme nights with alternate dining choices add to the menu.

Stopped for supper on a Sunday night with a group of 12 people. The staff was happy to accommodate as it wasn’t overly busy. Food was good and the pizza very good with lots of cheese. Menu was typical of a family restaurant and very reasonably priced – our group of 12 ate for $85. Food portions were all quite large. Building decor could use some updating as the room we ate in looked like it might be stuck in the 90s, but don’t let the look turn you off. Cash only.

Amboy is limited on options but as family style restaurants go it’s pretty good. There’s a waitress there that is super sweet, friendly and helps make the experience such a pleasure. I believe that, like most places, they are a little understaffed so wait times can be a little longer. However, they do the best they can and the food is good. You should probably check it out.
