Good food good vibe. If your looking for some delicious soul food this is the place we almost ordered everything on the menu. Chicken, cat fish, gumbo was good, okra, rice, corn bread was good yams and greens were delicious, mac and cheese was okay could be a little more cheesy. Received the gee chee red rice with sausage and bacon by accident because they gave me that instead of my mac and cheese so I had to go back to get the mac but I liked the rice better. Definitely will be going back when I have a taste for some good fried chicken.

Traveled to Bud Dairy Food Hall with my cousin. This place has an wonderful exhibit of restaurants for all cultures. It has about 3 bars & an outside roof top bar. It has outside seating! Plenty of parking or street parking. I believe on the other side of the building it’s parking. They do have an elevator outside & inside. This is my 2nd time eating here! The Modern Southern table is down south food. The last time I tried the fried chicken which was very delicious ! I had the black eye pea salad. This time I had the perch fish 3 nice size pieces & side of cornbread & turkey greens & bake beans! I loved bake beans the greens was a bit spicy for me. I believe my fish was cooked fast on outside but the inside needed cooked a little longer. It was seasoned good. I kept it just brought it home ! I am fan I would have like to tried the catfish but I am funny because to me some catfish’s taste like mud .A nice place to go for the whole family so many restaurants.

This was the best chicken I have had in decades! It was seasoned beautiful and hot when my husband and I received our food. The sides were excellent as well. The black-eyed pea salad was prepared as a cold salad. It was delicious! MST is located in the Budd Dairy Food Hall which is a great atmosphere. I will be back!

It doesn’t get more Southern than MST (Modern Southern Table).

Nothing but slop for an $18 meal. The fish had a very fishy smell and taste that also included a lot of bones and the tail of the fish. The macaroni was a joke and the “canned” sweet potatoes had so much sugar! Based on the picture reviews this place is not consistent!

The food was pretty good so was the amount of food you get for the price the Mac and cheese was kind of stiff seemed like it was cheesey when first made but had been sitting overall I’d come again and try the fish I keep hearing about

I smelled the greens as soon as I opened my door for the delivery person. Fisrt time tryimg this place so got the breast/wing meal and the Southern veggie plate. I asked for chicken to be fried hard…they definitely did that as I struggled a bit with it, lol. THEY ARE HEAVY HANDED WITH THE SALT!!! While I enjoyed what I was able to eat, I noticed that all the food was extremely salty. Especially the greens-which I looked forward to the most. I’m hoping that food isn’t usually this salty because I’d definitely like to eat food from here again. Sides were red rice, mac n cheese, greens, fried okra, yams, and cornbread. I definitely felt like I was at a Southern table eating Sunday dinner. Took a star off due to all the salt. I couldn’t eat much of this due to that (I think I felt my heart screaming and crying). I ate all the yams and cornbread though, lol.

To start with, having prepackaged tartar sauce is an insult to southern food. But other than that the food was pretty good. Sides made it all work. Greens and coleslaw were awesome. Red rice was dry and bland, same with the catfish. But I will definitely order from there again.

I wasn’t expecting a food hall but the venue is nice. MST is towards the back behind the bar on the first floor. While waiting on my food, I toured the second and third floor. There is a bar on each floor. 2nd floor is a cool old school game space with skee-ball. The 3rd floor has a rooftop bar, cool seating, heating lamps, and a decent view. Happy hour daily. Purchase your food and take it to another bar on another floor. Back to my visit, I took my food to go. Everything was wonderful. Catfish – Mac and cheese, yams and okra. I would definitely return. Unfortunately, I have no pictures of my food. But here’s the food hall. Support Black Owned Businesses.

I love how thick and crispy the chicken is! I got the two piece white meat platter with coleslaw. The coleslaw and cornbread were delicious. Can’t wait to go back and try the other sides.
