Pay very, very close attention to all of the reviews (including mine) that discuss the incredibly long wait times at The Water Tree Cafe. Apparently this is how this business operates all the time, and isn’t seasonal, etc.

We stopped in right as it opened, as we read that dishes are made to order and there is only one chef. She wasn’t quite ready for us even though we came a few minutes after opening. There was one server and one chef only. Chef seemed a bit frazzled and she was a bit gruff in her handling our questions. We were there because of her “vegan” options, but be forewarned…if you are truly vegan, you may not want to have any of the fried dishes, such as the nuggets, as she puts everything in the same oil. The dishes we had were pretty tasty, so I hope the service can improve. Our waitress was lovely and did a wonderful job trying to keep up with everyone, but she was only one person. Some customers left or changed their orders because food prep took so long. She did offer vegetarian/vegan options that we were comfortable eating…veggie burger, cheesy mac and cashew cheese, but we probably wouldn’t go back. The tiny place did get crowded quickly, if you go, just expect to be there a long time. It took about an hour until we got our meals.

A hidden gem! A must go to. Superb food, drinks and staff. There are vegan plates, platters, drinks and desserts. I endulged in the Hipster Burger and the Hawaiian Latte. My plus 2 had the unicorn waffle; macncheese. Honey dew Boba tea; chicken fish tacos. The portions are huge! Prices are reasonable. Cafe is clean. Love the relaxing turquoise walls and the music choice. Was a wonderful experience as we are traveling through.

Absolutely LOVE this place!! There is something for everyone but if you’re vegan, this is the place to go! They have TONS of plant based options! Excellent selections for carnivores as well. The kids menu also has vegan and non vegan “kid” favorites. Portions are very generous and you’ll want to order everything so plan to get “to-go” (styrofoam) boxes LOL A large variety of beverages (more than one diet choice), as well as smoothies, bubble tea, milkshakes, and more. The atmosphere was welcoming, clean, and relaxing. Staff was very friendly, remembered our prefer without writing it down, and cooked it perfectly! We will definitely be back!!

I’ve been vegan for 6 years and have had vegan food all over the country and world, this is THE WORST vegan food I have ever had. by far. like, barely edible. Boba “tea” was just almond milk w syrup, the Boba was too soft and disgustingly chewy. the “chalupa” didn’t even have cheese to hold the taco shells together and the meat is just a burger patty crumbled up. the onion rings were flavorless, cheese fries gave me a stomach ache and the mac and cheese was sooo greedy and all the cheese stuck together in one big pile. if you’re vegan PLEASE go somewhere else cus this ain’t it.

So I tried this place for the first time today and it was pretty good. The spicy aioli was delicious. Everything was pretty tasty and I look forward to trying some other items on the menu.

This is one of the rare places that my wife and I can go to that offers vegan food for my wife and regular options for me that are both really good. My wife was impressed with the beyond meat gorditas and the vegan milkshake. I was a little disappointed in the perogies, they just didn’t have much taste. However, I’m still leaving the rating at 5 stars because of the options and the other food quality. I had the Black and Bleu burger, and it may have been the best Black and Bleu burger that I’ve ever had. The meat was good quality, and the Bleu Cheese was good quality. (I think it may have actually been Clemson Bleu Cheese) It was on a pretzel bun. Usually I don’t like pretzel buns, because they are so dense that they overpower the burger, but this was perfect. The bun was grilled and just a little doughy, and it balanced out the sandwich and the richness of the Bleu Cheese. We will definitely be back when we are in Myrtle Beach.

This was such a good take on chicken pho! It had bell peppers, tomatoes, and micro greens. Definitely a warm and comforting dish.

The food and service are amazing! It’s so nice having a go-to spot! They even have delicious vegan options for any meat/dairy-free friends. Never had a bad meal and the cocktails are always tasty. Very clean and always make us feel welcome. Extensive menu with great deals.
