We went for brunch Sunday afternoon, no reservation needed. There were people but not a crowd. The service was good and attentive, if a little slow at times, but very nice and receptive. The food and drinks were delicious. We had the oxtails and short ribs. Limited, but beautiful parking lot. No wheelchair accessible parking but accessible entry and seating. Live music, clean decor historical location I’ll recommend and revisit.

This historical building and the food was awesome for me. If these walls could talk I would be sure to listen. The food had great flavor and the plate was full of food. I had the jambalaya that was cooked perfect for me. Angie is a great mixologist. The chicken was fresh and cooked to perfection. Great taste. They do have live jazz nights. The restaurant is bright and inviting is the decor. This would be a great date spot. Or a great place to meet up with family and friends. The cuisine is Soul food, Mexican, Creole and Cajun. Breakfast is served until 2pm. This restaurant is in a residential area so parking is difficult.

First of all, a huge shout out and thank you to Christian. He really saved the day at the Dunbar! He is one of the most respectful, attentive, polite, and hardest working young men I have seen in a long while … and with a smile. My last experience left a poor review about 6 months ago. I returned for a second chance. The atmosphere is lovely with a nice layout of both high and low tables for comfort dining. This time, I was seated immediately after Christian answered a few questions. When he saw the other server had not taken my order, he jumped in and took care of it. He paid attention to all details, even letting me know my order was ready, but missing one piece of breast and asked if he could bring it out hot so I could get started. He went above and beyond. My entire meal was on point! There is plenty of food, great price point, and enough for a second meat in my to go box. I was so full I took Banana pudding home. After I walked around the neighborhood a bit, I returned for a few minutes for the Sunday live Jazz music. What a bonus! I highly recommend Sunday after 12:30 to catch some amazing musicians.

The best soul food that I’ve had in years and dined in a great soul food restaurant atmosphere. The staff are very accommodating and helpful towards your menu selections. The oxtails, rice, and gravy were my favorite, but everything was Delicious!

I have never given a poor review but this was not a good experience overall. We were seated and not waited on for one hour. When I went to the front and told an employee I waited an hour she found a waitress that said not my table instead of taking the order. The two waitresses debated and one took the order. There was a fly in my strawberry lemonade. They apologized and brought a new one and I was not able to drink it. I was with 3 friends. All of the food was cold and the Ox tails and dressing tasted like it was made the day before and warmed up today. We had to ask those that were helping others to find our waitress several times. We were told that big parties and Uber meals made them slow. Bad food and bad service and Los of excuses was my perception. The live musicians were great and helped me get the waitress. The place was clean but to many tables over crowded the place. Hard to get out in case of fire. Seemed too be preferential service for regulars. Fran

My daughter and I were familiar with Delicious on Crenshaw, we did not know this was a family business. It was our first time at the Dunbar, but it will not be the last. The dining room is intimate and the food was really good. I’m looking forward to Sunday brunch, we were told there would be music.
