The service was really great. Our server was wonderful. I have wanted to try their Ruben for the longest time. I heard great things. It didn’t seem like 8 oz. of meat. The bread overpowered the flavors. I couldn’t even taste their thousand island dressing. It was good but next time I’m going to try their Mexican food.

Well I came here expecting pizza and BBQ, but then was greeted with a Latin cantina, which was weird. I didn’t think much about it. Was greeted and taken care of pretty quickly. Ordered some poutine, and the bistec ranchero. Now, I wasn’t expecting to taste cinnamon on the poutine, not bad, but definitely not what I would expect from a poutine (to be fair, it was the added smoked meat, but still it was a lil off putting) once my bistec came out, it did not taste whatsoever like any good Bistec at all.

Great experience at this restaurant! We like to go to hometown restaurants when traveling. The food was very good and the staff was even better. There was something for everyone. Pizza, Mexican, hamburgers and apps. Highly recommend checking out Shorty’s when visiting the Superior/Duluth area.

I loved Shortys, and the change to Mexican isn’t my favorite. The food was ok. What really threw off our group was the addition of lime soda in margaritas. I’m sorry, but there’s a reason no one does that. Verify the ingredients in the drink menu before ordering – lime soda is also added to mimosa (and possibly other cocktails- those were the 2 I noted).

We’ve been here quite a few times, and every time we say that we aren’t coming back. The food is mediocre at best, and the dining room is just… not great… the half that has window and natural sunlight is always closed off, they say that it’s for large parties and reservations only but I’ve never seen it rented. It would be nice to have a window… This last time, a friend and I got the same thing, the Gordo, and we split poutine and had water, I wanted jalapenos, so they changed me $2 and gave me a jalapeño. Our bills were $30 each with tip. $60 for two burritos and poutine? The part that really grinds my gears is that they charge the customer their fee for using a debit card, that is their fee, it’s called the cost of doing business. This time was the last, I’m not going back.

Loved this place, I went there on a Saturday night about 7ish, sat in the dining room and the noise from the bar side sounded busy but did not interfere with us. We order a triple d’s 9″ pizza was really good and also a sweet Italian sausage and a deluxe grilled cheese sandwich was told to try the Reuben next time we come in. I will diffently go there again..
