I had the birra plate with a horchata. The food was good. The meat was dry but the beans and rice were delicious. Here’s the bad part, the cook did not wash his hands before preparing my food and now I’m on the toilet with the runs. Please don’t eat here you can get really sick.

They used to have awesome bean and chesse burritos but have gone down hill. I just ordered from them and they barely put cheese in my burrito. There beans are also more like liquid. Very disappointing

Very friendly and cozy atmosphere but the menu prices have not been updated so don’t be surprised if you get charged more and there is a sign that says Cash Only right below where it says that there is a $0.99 credit card fee (which is a lot).

It’s a taco shop but the tacos are not that good. It was basically a corn tortilla with the meat and fix it yourself. Meat was tender but dry. The Birria bowl had good flavor.

I love this place. I used to frequent here while I was in the Navy. I went 14 years without visiting, but never forgot. I visited LA 2 years ago and convinced my local friends to make the drive down to SD. They had me worried because I’ve spoken so highly of the food here that what if it’s not as good as I remember. Crisis averted, as it was every bit as good, if not better. The California Burrito here is one of my favorite meals anywhere. I love it, and I’ll always make it back when I visit CA.

Take this review as a negative star; I’m visiting San Diego for the first time in 8 years and had high expectations for some Mi Rancho. Once I arrived I noticed the name changed to Burrito Leo (not a big deal), walked in and the entire sitting area was dirty with food on the ground and the tables hadn’t been attended to (not a big deal), but once I received my California Burrito and rolled tacos my mind exploded with disgust; this is not the same restaurant. The Burrito – soggy fries, no guacamole, some odd-tasting green paste, and sour cream – Barf The rolled tacos – extra small with hardly any meat, some odd-tasting paste, not good shredded cheese and crumbled cheese that tasted of parmesan.

The el pastor tacos were DELICIOUS! some of the best I’ve had in California. The Buché tacos were delectable! Also, the cook made the tacos exactly as I had ordered and even gave some extra Limon. The salsa Verde and Roja tasted amazing as well. I highly recommend. Friend of mine ordered a burrito and it was HUGE and was told how great the seasoning is on the meat. Feels like it’s a Mom and Pop shop. The cashier person was really informative about the dishes and answered all my questions about each dish before ordering. This is the perfect authentic place to eat. Definitely made the list on my usual stops to eat

I’ve been coming here whenever I’m in San Diego since 2012. This place has always been a great place for some mexican grub. Always recommend the classic Carne Asada Burrito. The staff is also very kind and polite. Great conversationalists. If you’re looking for some good food, this is where it is at!
