Had a very disappointing experience here last night. We’d been wanting to try Lake House for quite some time and finally stopped in around 6:45 yesterday evening. The bar was busy with a few seats still available but the restaurant section was over half empty. We were greeted by a nice gentleman who explained he couldn’t seat us for about the next 15 minutes because the kitchen was backed up. He was very apologetic and polite and we understood so we sat down and waited. He came back to us 15 minutes later saying he checked with the kitchen and they were still many tickets behind so he still couldn’t seat us. We asked if we could just sit at a high top and have a few drinks while we waited since there were not 2 seats together at the bar to which he replied absolutely and he appreciated our patience. He then went and told the bartender he sat us there for drinks while we waited. She proceeded to very loudly berate him and tell him she couldn’t handle high tops and wouldn’t be serving us. At that point we decided it would be best to just leave. Plenty of other restaurants in Mount Dora to pick from.

Stopped at this cute little restaurant to grab some lunch. As soon as I sat down I noticed a large amount of flies flying around the dining room. We ordered an appetizer and it was soaked in grease and also tasted funny. That was enough for me. Place looks like it’s lacking simple cleaning standards. Will not be returning.

What can I say about the owners, Rich and Jerry? They make you feel at home and part of the family! The servers Mikayla and Ryan are amazing! Bartender Angela is sweet as can be and I’ve never in my life had such great service, food, and a good time, to where I couldn’t wait to go back! This is a hidden gem and the food is just awesome! If you’re looking for Michelob Amberbock on draft, they have it and SOOOOO FRESH!!!

Mt Dora is full of great places to eat. The Lake House Bar and Grill has the best hamburgers hands down. Their blue cheese burger was amazing and cooked the way I requested. Crystal, my waitress, was very helpful and got the order served without delay. They have a great outdoor eating area that had plenty of shade. If you are in Mt Dora do not miss out on the best burgers in town.

You look at it and would think much of the food, but fried mushrooms, and chicken quesadilla was amazing. Mom had a Reuben and loved. Best she’s had in a long time. Short staffed , but everyone is. Loved the music with song requests. Will be back

I so wanted to live this place. It is a cute little place before town. Menu look great but execution was lacking. Wife got the chicken sandwich. It was dry . I got the lakehouse burger. It was greasy. The fries were fresh cut but they did not prefer them and they were soggy and limp. The onion rings had a good batter, but the fryer temp was too low as they were greasy and the onions not cooked through.
