The waitress we had reminded me of what exceptional service was. Offered to box up our food, carried a gleeful energy and even gave us a free cannoli dessert since it was someone in our party’s birthday. The food was excellent, I ordered the Pollo Marsala and it was probably the best I’ve had anywhere. Cute place inside and they also have outdoor seating with heaters so it’s nice to sit out or in any time of year.

We were walk-ins and they found us a table. The restaurant was very busy and the staff was hustling. We were served bread with a tomato olive oil dip. We asked for butter and got butter. We did not order that much food because we had to drive back to LA and did not want a lot of leftovers. I ordered an Espresso Martini , delicious. For dinner we had the Arancini as an appetizer. My husband had the Capellini Pomodoro. I had the Pappardelle alla Vaccinara (ox tail ragu). Husband had gelato and I had the lemon cake.

The service here was absolutely incredible. The waitress completely understood and was very empathetic with one of our friends request, and she was completely responsive to all of our needs. Although my gnocchi was not very good, it’s always a hit or miss at Italian restaurants, so I’m not surprised. And the pesto sauce with the ravioli that my other friend ordered was quite delicious.

So we went to their sister Italian pizza restaurant a couple miles away and the food there was excellent. The food here was good, but I was disappointed in the flavors. It just didn’t have that rich Italian flavor and spice which I was expecting. The food was definitely good, I wouldn’t deny that. However, I expected more especially relative to how good their sister restaurant was. We had the ravioli and instead of an Italian sauce it literally came in plain tomato sauce which literally tasted like ketchup diluted with olive oil. The tortellini with pesto was better, but again, I’ve had more authentic and better tasting Italian food, so I was a bit disappointed.

The service was really bad. I asked for one thing from the server for twice and it did not come. We ordered a kind of appetizer but we got something else. We did not make this problem but the salad was yellow instead of green. Ravioli was like a store bought and taste was not good. Disappointed!
