My family member worked here and the managers were very rude, they had to work even when sick. They cut vegetables on the dining tables and not in prep kitchen. Lost of sketchy stuff behind the scenes. Eating here is risky at best. This was a couple years ago, but I can only hope it’s changed since.

I was a frequent customer living downtown. The sandwiches, soups and desserts are really good, just a bit pricey. With the exception of one very rude, grouchy and hateful man, the rest of the staff are amazing. He has to have ties to the place, otherwise he’d be fired. If I didn’t love the chili and cornbread so much I would have avoided the place just because of him. (He is what dropped my rating from 5 to 3 stars.)

Palmer’s at KATH (Kaleidoscope at the hub), is my favorite location! I had an excellent sandwich the number 3, and a great bowl of clam chowder! I also got to people watch as I enjoyed my lunch. An excellent lunch experience for anyone downtown.

Palmer’s is always delicious. A legit deli in downtown Des Moines. The salads are fresh and the sandwiches are stuffed full. Make sure you get a cookie. And they cater.
