The Curry Chicken w/ Rice and Peas was delicious. My plate had WAY more food than I expected! The curry had so much flavor, you could see bits of the spices used (real Bay leaf, Thyme and Allspice). The rice and peas had a rich essence of coconut, I think maybe even shreds of coconut. So0o0o good!

If you have never had authentic Jerk Chicken, Erma’s is an excellent place to start. The chicken was tender with lots of spicy sauce. The beans and rice were sweet with the flavor of coconut. The plantains were a bonus. This is the kind of meal I would eat everyday. Don’t forget to try a Jamaican Patty as well.

I talked with the chef about my special diet and she completely understood. The levels of flavor were amazingly tasty. All i can say is delicious. I shall be back again

The oxtail was not good. It was not your traditional oxtail dinner. It had a vinegary coleslaw for vegetable. What happened to the cabbage? The cashier was pleasant but lacked energy. I’ll give it another chance and try something else

So first time trying this place. Love the almost artist gallery vibe. 1st time to try curried chicken patty. Wow my taste buds were over the moon happy, curry chicken with white rice amazing and Oxtail cooked perfectly. Rice and peace so delightful you could eat it by itself. I’ve been missing home since August last year and man this visit made up for it

This restaurant is located in Salt City Market. Erma’s is delectable and the chef/ owner is the nicest person ever!! We tried the Jerk Salmon, which is a must if this is your first time trying out Jamaican food (warning: jerk flavor definitely has a kick to it so be prepared!). Also, tried Braised oxtail in butter beans, which has more of a tangy flavor.

Was my first time here at Salt City and my first time trying the Oxtail. Big mistake, the Oxtail was mostly bones barely any meat on them, sauce was good, the rice was bland, the plantain was good. The male cashier was unfriendly acted like we were bothering him by ordering there. He then seemed confused on the orderes, I heard a lady from the back say to the other guy who was cooking what is he doing,we got people waiting on these orders. Needless to say was not a good first impression at all .☹️

Erma’s Island is a food experience. That was so good I forgot to take a photo before digging in. The smell of the jerk chicken wafting off my plate was too tempting to resist. It was perfectly seasoned, perfectly spicy, and the rice and beans has a beautiful spice with a floral note.

Never had a chance to try the food because of bad business. Meals come with 2 sides. I 1st asked for Oxtails and asked instead of cabbage can I have 2 or 3 extra pieces of plantain. She said no. So I went for another option. After I paid for it she comes and says we are out of curry goat, do you want a refund. No mention of do I want to try something else, just do I want a refund. So i said so you rather loose a $21 sale over 3 extra pieces of plantain that would could cost you less than $1.00. . These business owners and staff not too bright.
