Sopes and aquachile starters were great, tacos just so-so. Suadero was too burnt/smokey for my taste, esp. at 16$ for a pair. Food took quite a while, atmosphere was good but freaking loud. AC was turned down to arctic temperatures. I ended up eating more tacos at a stall later, and they were better

This place is really unassuming, but wow, the food and cocktails were next level. The tuna crudo and the duck were outstanding. The service was really great too. I also loved the idea of being able to take the little sauces home afterwards

The portions are small and the price is high. The guacamole appetizer was a quarter of a cup, maybe. Two small tacos per order. I liked the macha salsa—it came in a little squeeze tube. The coconut ice pop was tasty, it was vegan and gluten free! The service was good, the food was good, but honestly not anything extremely special for the price.

If it were possible to assign more stars, please know that this epic dining establishment deserves them -an entire constellation. Most diners are unprepared for the daringly delicious combinations of flavors that mere tastebuds savor for not quite long enough. The cucumber lime accents on the scallops was divine. Aptly named diver scallops as one wants to dive back in for more. The big eye tuna crudo did not disappoint nor show that my eyes were larger than my stomach. As for the amberjack aguachile, our table was sounding the red alert trying to find words other than amazing. The lamb shank birria literally fell off the bone; juicy, delicate, and delicious. There was a debate at my table regarding the tacos: two votes for the excellent carnitas, two votes for the spectacular carne asada. I did not need a lot of convincing to devour both before I voted. I was blown away by the crispy and succulent combination -nothing short of amazing perfection. Yet the super smooth carnitas attempted to woo me, “have another bite” they whispered. I indulged and engulfed the remaining tacos. All of this to say I was delighted and full when the cinnamoney churros arrived. Right on the money; not too light nor heavy… I could use a separate stomach when visiting this establishment. The average reviewer may leave a kind word suggestion or two, but given the greatness of this place, I felt many sentences were in order -and highly suggest ordering everything. Drinks are creative and strong -I recommend El Grinch but also found love in El Chavo Chido. And more importantly (muy importante) cannot express enough positive feedback about the very friendly and helpful staff (insanely knowledgeable and passionate about all that is served). A big shout out to our server Mark who went through a mezcal and tequila flight like we were heads of state on our way to Jalisco. In fact, it made me want to go back. In short, make your reservation already!

Mexican fine dining! I used to think that was such an oxymoron, but this place changed that. The aguachile Amberjack Aguachile was the best aguachile I’ve ever had; it had a delicate spice to it and was complimented by chips that were still warm+fresh. The flautas were the best flautas I’ve ever had; they were accompanied with three delicious sauces to dip. The carnitas tacos had crisp+tender pieces and tasted authentic af. All the dishes tasted like they were consciously constructed with depth as the primary focus. Rice and beans were great. Most complex beans I’ve ever had. Service was stellar and music is excellent.

Overall I liked Taco Guey, the place was cool and had good food, but it’s relatively pricy for the amount of food you get, especially in a cuisine where the price point doesn’t need to be high for good food.

Update: Returned with a party of 7, didn’t sit at the bar and our experience was fantastic! It was a birthday party for my fiancé and our server, Kevin, was fun, accommodating, knowledgeable and engaging. We all had a wonderful time and the food was delicious!

This place is a hidden gem and stumbled upon it by accident one afternoon! My coworker and I were walking around trying to figure out what to have for lunch. As we were crossing g the street this place came into our view. We went inside and sat at the bar. We both ordered tacos, she got the pork taco and I got fish tacos. Both were delicious and joy when it arrived! The best part? The cilantro on top of our tacos! Now that is an authentic taco!
