Excellent pastrami sandwich. Very good portion, not huge. The chopped liver was strangely foamy, but good flavor. Service was good and attentive. Enormous menu to choose from. The Ritz is a classic NJ diner.

This diner has a large variety of cuisine like Italian, Jewish, American, Chinese, and others. Bakery section has a large selection of Italuan and Jewish of pastries. Customer service needs attention, our waiter Kevin was great and attentive to our needs, the cashier didn’t even say hello at the time we were paying. One of the workers had his toddler at the diner and this kid was screaming and crying and a lot of people were not happy because management didn’t say a word. When we were leaving I was the one that initiated the salutation have a good evening because otherwise we were like no one was there.

It’s probably the worst diner food I had in many years. I ordered a pastrami sandwich on white. The meat was dried, chewy and no flavor. The chicken pot pie was put together with leftovers chicken meat. The only thing that was good was the home fries. The bill was over $100 for 4 people, we didn’t even have alcohol .

My family has been driving here from Rockaway (NJ) since the early 2000s. It has been a great diner to grow up in and they always treat us like family. My parents at one point for a while came here every Saturday night for their date night, sat in the same booth with the same waiter (Pierre was the best!), and ordered the same dishes almost every week. It’s that kind of place for us. They’ve also warmly welcomed my husband into the mix and he loves it here too (even tho I joke that the manager Tony is my “diner boyfriend” ).
