The wonton soup is wonderful and you should have it whenever you’re sick, or it’s under 50 degrees outside, or if you just feel like having good soup.

The savory crepe is a wonderful, unusual find. A slightly spicy egg crepe wrapped around an extruded, pate de choux “donut” that wasn’t sweet, but gave the dish a chewy, crunchy, adictive body. Street food sold from a window on the street eaten in hand. Fast service, but I’ll bet there’s a line at busier times.

Absolutely worth it, it was totally worth driving all the way here to eat. The ingredients are fresh, the flavors are authentic, and the prices are cheap. Highly recommended.

This place is the best kind of hole in the wall: Only four things on the menu, and all of them delicious, fast, and inexpensive.

4 items on their menu. The Tian Jin Dumplings are sooooo good. The soup base is so pure and refreshing. No MSG. It feels all natural flavor. Flakes of egg yolk (we call that egg flower), sea weed. The dumplings are so yummy. You get 10 of them. They serve super hot (in temperature). I recommend not adding any chili sauce so you can taste their natural flavor. The soy milk is also so fresh. Everything feels like home made and not restaurant food. Less than $12 for those two. Will come back again.

The dough of the jianbing was done perfectly right, I’m more used to having crisps inside instead of youtiao though. And could probably use some cilantro and more sesame seeds too to make it more like what I remembered from China.

Affordable hole in the wall serving 4 simple Chinese staples – Egg Crepe Donuts, wonton soup, tea eggs and house-made soy milk. I ordered all 4 items, totaling less than $20.

Love it! Traveling from a place where Taiwanese food is nonexistent. It was so yummy. Felt like home. Truly made my day.

I always stop for jian bing if I’m nearby and the couple than run the shop are always so nice. Just a couple seats if you want to eat there though.

I love this authentic hole-in-the-wall spot in Chinatown. They have a wonderfully delicious savory egg crepe with yummy spicy sauce and a donut inside (protip: order extra sauce). It’s my new favorite quick breakfast in Oakland ($6 cash or Venmo)! I can’t wait to try the dumpling soup.
