What a great spot! The food, atmosphere, and service was fantastic. Stopped in for breakfast and a pie, highly recommend.

It’s a total dive, but the regulars seem to love it. It’s like going back in time. The restaurant is old and kinda dirty and in need of repair. One bathroom about the size of a small closet. My bacon cheeseburger was small and dry. My wife’s maid rite was just as it should be. The tots and fries were hot and fresh. I didn’t have any pie, but it was probably good. Cash only as well. It was just kind of an okay experience at best. Not sure I can recommend this place.

This is a small dine-in place in Brainerd, MN. I would say the locals loved this place as it stayed busy the whole time we were there. The place is small. Their chicken strips were good. The porkchop I had was just alright. Not something I would remember. I wish I had tried their pies though because it looks delicious. The server was very nice and accommodating. I wish the place is bigger though. I felt very uncomfortable when I was eating on the booth.

Old school diner with homemade pie every day. Consistently delicious and low key atmosphere, old times to children.

Passing through Brainerd after a week of camping, and happened to stumble into town during a boil water notice. The Barn was one of few independently owned spots to eat still open (obviously not serving tap water during the notice.) There was a small wait, but the staff came outside to let us know about open seating within 15 minutes. The burgers were great, my partners loved the blueberry pie, and the wait staff was very kind. Felt cozy, if a little tight, but I’m kind of a bigger guy. I was warned that the restroom is a bit small (able to wash your hands and sit on the toilet at the same time), but otherwise I’d recommend this restaurant 100%.

It’s a small cafe that fills up fast. We could wait for a booth or sit at the counter. We opted for the counter. There is one small problem with that option; you are sitting mere feet from the pies. So many delicious pies. After finishing a fantastic patty melt, I let out a notch of my belt and ordered a coconut cream slice. 4 inches wide and 5 inches tall. The top is mostly air I tried to convince myself. I pushed past the I’m-to-full-to-keep-eating because I was not about to let one crumb of this delicious slice of heaven go to waste. I may have to do 10 miles on a state park trail to reach the point where I stop waddling while walking. But I would do it all over again.

This is a Brainerd must!! If there is a wait- wait. It will be worth it! The food comes quick, there is Mickey Mouse pancakes the kids love, and their burgers are made with ground meat instead of a patty- absolutely delicious. Getting a slice of hommade pie is a must! BRING CASH! That’s the only thing accepted. The atmosphere is family friendly, our waitress was great!

If you like cozy and small town feel then this is the place for you. Service was friendly and quick. They are certainly known for their made-right, but they do have other options. The meatloaf was very good. Mashed potatoes were a great classic.

Wow. This place is cozy and welcoming as can be. The pie selection is amazing, as are the pies. Their sausage gravy is just full of sausage, and that is just the way I like it. Everything was delicious and nicely priced. BUT! Bring cash! They do have an ATM though.
