Super little hole in the wall Mexican restaurant! Clean and neat with a very friendly staff. The coffee was fresh and refills were plentiful. The food was also fresh and tasty. Nice soft tortillas. Sauces were flavorful. The service was exceptional. Prices were reasonable. Do not be deterred by the outside appearance of the building. This is a great place to stop for a quick bite to eat, if you are in the area. It’s a short drive from the VA Clinic.

I normally will not write a review after only one visit, but this one was too good. I had the Plato Loko and it was just marvelous, not just good but MARVELOUS. The chicken was not over cooked and chewy and the cactus was not mushy. The flavors were perfect. I took my entire crew here and they all said it was really good and wanted to know the next time I could treat them again.

A friend brought me to La Mala. Truly authentic Mexican food. Yum! From Mole to chile Rellenos their lunch specials are amazing. I grew up in Laredo and have tasted true Mexican food. This is my new hide out.

I had 3 Gorditas, menu read $3.49 each, I had 1 plastic bottle soda should have been maybe $2, she said. I was overcharged by about $3 & I questioned it, I repeated what we ate, I think she charged $4 each Gordita. The Gordita quality was not the same. Not going back. Very upset and unhappy!

I used to love coming here for the portions and prices , but now their prices going up and the portions are getting smaller. If youre gonna increase your prices thats fine , but dont make the portions smaller. Especially with the barbacoa. We used to get 1 pound and it would be plenty. Now we order pound and a half and it portion doesnt look any different. Thinking of checking weight of meat myself

Well today I tried this place out after a recommendation from a friend. I ordered the Huevos Rancheros plate which usually consist of potatoes and beans. I got my plate and realized that they had also put some barbacoa on there, which is okay by me as long as they didn’t charge me. Overall the plate was okay. Nothing to brag about and the tortillas were homemade which was okay to. The Barbacoa was really good to my surprise. The only thing that was questionable, believe it or not, was the water! Don’t drink the water it had a weird taste. Don’t know if the water was not good or the plastic cup was dirty either way it didn’t taste good!! (Please note all my opinions are based on what i ate only and not based on the rest of the menu.)
