This place is hidden from the main road, so I was surprised to see this place across from Smart and Final. Glad I checked it out! The food is freshly made, and the ingredients are good quality as well. The gumbo was delicious, packed with meat, and the shrimp po’ boy was easily a favorite. It was so good I forgot to take a pic!

I got the fried chicken plate with greens and Mac and it was so fresh and the food was fire!! The batter was crispy and seasoned well, better than any Popeyes, KFC, or churches. We left with a clean plate on the table and service was nice and attentive. Definitely coming back here again!!

Really enjoyed the food — got the Gumbo-laya and Catfish Po Boy Food. Food prep takes a while (nice and fresh!), so you might want to call ahead, but at least it’s got a nice atmosphere for waiting. On the expensive side, though the Po Boy was very generously portioned. Friendly service. Will be back!

Sal need new cooks at the Bixby Knolls location. My gumbo didn’t taste right and I swear it was borderline going bad. The shrimp on the po boy was salty and the fries were limp. Sal usually have great food Imma stick to the Long Beach Bl location
