We had previously dined here & enjoyed it, several years ago. This visit, however, left a literal unpleasant taste in our mouths. The deviled eggs were bland, the fried oysters on top were pretty scrappy, & the whole thing had not an ounce of flavour, brightness, or spice. Thankfully, a pretty bomb hot sauce was available on the bar (see photos). Our oyster shooters may have included the lowest-quality oyster I’ve ever tasted. Several of our raw oysters had broken shards (far beyond the grit one occasionally may find), & several hadn’t been properly cleaned. Overall, lovely little interior, with some outdoor seating (facing Haywood), but the food was poor enough, we won’t be returning. Item of note: perhaps the only thing that pleased me about this visit was their gender-neutral washroom.

Took mom here for Mother’s Day oysters! She also had the clam chowder and key lime pie! I had the fried shrimp po’boy, and my bf had the brunch burger and the double ipa. Everyone was very happy with their food, which is not typical! The have outdoor seating with several tables. There was parking behind the building. Mom is already talking about coming back for more!!

We came here for my 51st birthday. It was our 1st time here. As soon as we walked in I knew this was my kind of place. Immediately we met Dee and she was awesome. She took us on a eating tour of oysters prepared in numerous ways ( grilled, steamed and raw) . They have several varieties of oysters to choose from as well as a wide variety of brews. We had Johnston Va. oysters on happy hour. Awesome!! Thanks to everyone at Oyster house Brewing company for a fabulous birthday. We’ll be back.

Food is absolutely delicious! My partner got the fish and chips and I got a po-boy with fried oysters. The staff is super friendly as well. Definitely adding this to our list of favorite spots when we visit Ashville. If you’re in the mood for seafood definitely be sure to check this spot out!

We (my husband and I!) ate a total of 40 (FORTY) oysters between the two of us. The oyster Bienville is one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. You would think, being in the mountains, you wouldn’t be able to get this quality of oysters here. I thought that. I was proven wrong. Their raw oysters are amazing too and they have a “happy hour” where you get a dozen for $22. Indeed it is a happy hour. Coming back as soon as I physically can.

Their New Orleans style menu items leave much to be desired. Skip the red beans and rice, very bland. This is Cajun in concept but quite far off in execution. Their redemption is the imperial oyster stout beer, which was fantastic. Fried shrimp po’ boy was also solid. Come for the beer, go elsewhere for Cajun food.

Everything oyster was delicious. The blue cheese fried ones were slightly under fried, but still lived up to flavor expectation. Raw oysters were fresh. Only issue was the names on tray didn’t match board so 2 oysters I have no clue what I ate. Ipa was a perfect compliment to the oysters. The shrimp poboy was good but slightly disappointed by panko batter and basic amount of shrimp. The etouffee meat was great quality, but was drowned out by burnt roux. Etouffee needs blonde roux, otherwise call it a (burnt) gumbo. The 1/2 pint portion for $17 (and didn’t give me bread) was overpriced. 3 pm openning time is a bummer.

My favorite neighborhood restaurant/watering hole! I can’t say enough good about the OH. Everything is consistently fabulous – the food, beer, cocktails, service. Great vibe, wonderful wait staff/bartenders, cool outdoor seating right in the heart of WAVL, and seats inside and at the bar. The seafood is always fresh and delicious. I’ve never had a meal here that wasn’t outstanding.
