The food was delicious! We came for lunch but unfortunately there’s no lunch specials on friday. We ordered off the main menu which was delicious. The guacamole was freshly made and delicious! We scarfed it down so fast I forgot to get a picture.

Sol Oaxaca brings upscale Mexican dining to Perry Hall. The restaurant owner left the Mucho Gusto group in Bel Air to create his own version of fine Mexican dining about 15 minutes south. The restaurant has been open for about a year, but immediate differences I can surmise is the vibe/atmosphere, which is much quieter than Mucho Gusto. There was a lone guitarist playing in a laidback relaxing style last night. They certainly do not have the tequila and mezcal menu that Mucho Gusto has, and that would be my only serious concern. But the food is great, much better than anything else in the area. Service was a bit slow, and had to get my server’s attention numerous times even though the restaurant was less than 1/3 of capacity. Actually, I was very surprised that the restaurant was not that crowded, and I’m not sure what to make of that except that people in the area are missing a very pleasant dining experience. Definitely recommend visiting when you are in Perry Hall.

Food was spectacular! Service was not great at all, my boyfriend and I felt neglected and waited a long time in between seeing our server. That said, the place is new so it could be that they just haven’t found their groove yet. I would absolutely go back, the food was incredible! We split guac, queso, tostadas and papas. The decor and the vibe were great!

Not impressed. The queso fundito just tasted like melted string cheese. No flavor to it and it had a weird texture. The entire time we were there , the tables next to us remained dirty and untouched even though there was plenty of staff around. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Went for the first time last night for my birthday. They easily accommodated us, a party of 12, in a sectioned off part of the restaurant. Our server was phenomenal and able to keep up with our rowdiness and drink orders with no issues. Speaking of drinks, their cocktails are out of this world and presented so beautifully. Finally, the food was outstanding. I wasn’t expecting a tamale to taste so light and fresh. The whole table was actually quiet for a bit as we gobbled down the delicious dishes. Also, y’all need to bottle that hot sauce. My only complaint is that my stomach wasn’t bigger so I could eat more but I’m sure as hell going to enjoy these leftovers for breakfast.
