First time here today and I am so glad we tried this place! It is a hole in the wall so to speak, but the food is very, very good. Very authentic. The service is excellent! Everyone that was serving food on the floor checked on us. Very nice people too. It was busy, but so worth it. It’s also a market, and meat market. It’s a little pricey but it is worth it. Gotta check this place out if you like authentic Guatemalian (Mexican) food. I highly recommend this place!! Can’t wait to go back

Worth the 3 minute drive off the highway. Polo loco was very fresh, beans and rice spiced with fresh spices, avocado perfect. The service is fast and very friendly.

Tamales not always available. Chicken Chimichanga was okay. I felt like it needed something, but couldn’t quite put my finger on what was missing. Cilantro would have been nice on top. Tomato on salad not ripe, a little disappointing, but not a deal breaker. My partner got tacos, and they are far from what he’s used too. Nice experience, but no need to return.

The best place in Morganton for authentic Guatemalan food. Everything is made from scratch (including the tortillas) and is delicious beyond imagination. After you eat, you can shop their grocery store, home to the highest quality meat and seafood I have found locally. Don’t be intimidated if you do not speak Spanish, they will help you order and their staff is bilingual. The menu also has pictures. Plus, you can use your phone and Google anything you need to translate. Mi Pais is an absolute must try and will likely become your new favorite.

We went to a party last year that was catered by Mi Pais, and it was so outstanding we knew who we would get the next time we needed catering. So this spring we had a party for my wife for her birthday, and we hit a home run with Mi Pais. We had a burrito/taco bar with chicken, beef, shrimp, rice, and black beans, and it was just as good as it was last year. Everyone loved it. They were easy to work with, right up until the end when we added some food to our order. To boot, their prices were fantastic. I highly recommend them! Gracias Mi Pais!
