Delta Diner is one of the most unique and enjoyable diner experiences I have encountered. Tucked away in the Northern woods of Wisconsin, the diner rests rather unassuming along the roadway, the only indicator of it’s potential the full parking lot with eager customers waiting in their vehicles for their chance to partake of the delicious food inside.

Delta Diner is wonderful! Wonderful food! Wonderful staff! Wonderful place! It’s the place is the middle of nowhere that makes the middle of nowhere somewhere to be!

FABULOUS!!! We stopped at the Tap as the Diner and Ice Cream Cafe’ was closed, but the bartending staff was AMAZING and the local “Tap Ornament” yes Dave, that’s you were super knowledgeable, kind, and all around fabulous people! We’re definately taking a weekend to drive the 2 hours further North just to grab a bite. Even when dropping off our Girl Scout

This is a old school dinner(made to look like a train car) atmosphere in the middle of the north woods of Wisconsin. Get there early and plan to wait. We waited an hour and it was not long after that I heard much longer times. There is a coffee shop right there too.

Stuffed French toast was amazing. Did not care for the German pancake though. The only thing I really didn’t like was that they figure the tip into the cost of your food so you have no choice. Overall, it is worth checking out if you are in the area. Long wait to get in though. Almost an hour.

This place is a must if you’re in the area! They’re only open Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 8am till 2pm. We got there at 10 and waited just over 2 hours to get seated. The food was excellent and the staff was top notch. The atmosphere is just like a diner from the 40’s with some modern improvements. I had Stuffed French Toast, and it was sooo good .

Wonderful diner with fantastic food. Try the Mexican Benny!!! Breakfast sandwich was amazing. Service was great – and keep in mind gratuity is included in all food prices. Prepare to wait a bit no matter when you go, but nice outdoor area to relax – but it’s worth it!!

The Delta Diner was very busy when we stopped on Saturday around noon – probably the busiest they could get. We were quoted a 45 minute wait, but only ended up actually waiting about 15 minutes. There’s a coffee shack next door, so we had coffees in hand and didn’t mind the wait. Service is speedy and the menu is somehow both very in-depth and complete and very small. We ordered the Blue Plate (special) Dutch Baby with lemon curd and strawberries plus side of bacon, and the mascarpone stuffed French toast. It’s no frills, but also gourmet. The prices at first glance seem a little steep, but it’s also a no-tipping establishment, which evened it out. The two meals and coffee was about $32. Everything was delicious and the service was great. My only real complaint is that the space is small with an open kitchen, so it is loud. Doesn’t bother me, but something to consider. Either way, we’ll definitely be back.

Rode our motorcycle 5 hours to get there, most of the time in the rain, on the recommendation of a few local business owners who also ride. Upon our arrival they offer us a seat at the counter and then just as quickly say actually, while chewing a mouthful of food, we are going to close soon. A cup of coffee at a minimum would have been nice. Place was full and most hadn’t received there food yet, from what we could tell. Then the same lady, not the one working the front door who never lifted her head with us standing awkwardly in front of her, comes out as we are leaving stating we could eat at there other place that opens in two hours. Are you kidding me, we are wet and tired but we are going to wait in the parking lot for two hours to spend our money after the way we were originally treated? Called our friends who recommend this place and they were so embarrassed. Brutal hospitality and manners. Great food and hospitality experiences in every other small town and restaurants in this area. First bad experience locally!

We went to lunch here on a whim when we were driving out of Ashland. It was a half hour drive, but definitely worth the trip! We were lucky and got in right away(it can be quite a wait, we have heard). The menu is on the board above the counter, but the server came and went through the whole thing, explaining all of the dishes (it was our first time there), which was very helpful as everything looks super simple, but there are wonderful surprises waiting!
