Kirkwood & Co. started as an idea…one that occupied the minds of a small group of local residents and wouldn’t go away until it came to fruition. Folks that sought to do something that the community wanted and desperately needed: a place to gather with friends and family to enjoy their company, along with good food and drink. A nice restaurant for Highland and the surrounding communities!

This is definitely a great local spot to eat at! The food is definitely high-quality, & I really enjoyed my hot tenderloin! The gravy was homemade, tenderloin hand breaded & potatoes were real! The inside is very nice, with tv’s all over to watch a game & with the old pictures of Highland on the walls! The staff was very friendly, & gave us plenty of time to order! This isn’t your typical local spot! The food is a definite step above your local diner food! A+

Stopped for a late lunch with a large group and they took care of us without any problems. Food all came out fast and tasted great! I got the Kirkwood sandwich (brisket and pulled pork) and it was excellent. Tender and flavorful. This place is new but it should last a long time with good food like this!

We stopped by here on our way back from Marysville to Saint Joe. Our experience was definitely great. We ordered the tenderloin with waffle fries and he ordered a French dip. The meat on the French dip was incredibly tender and the hoagie was soft and delicious. The waffle fries at just the right amount of seasoning. We also ordered some flour chips that came crispy and wonderful with a very mild salsa. At only a 30 minute drive from our home, we WILL be back!!! They also use the pay by app option. Nice!

Ordered hot roast beef and mashed potatoes with side of steamed veggies. The main entree was not very hot but didn’t want to send back since we were so hungry. The veggies were very blah. I think they came from a bag of frozen veggies and were nuked with no seasoning whatsoever. Service was fine. Nice and clean. My sis ordered same entree but with a side salad. Server didn’t mention extra charge for salad as a side. And the salad was just a little bit of lettuce for the most part and almost frozen. I spouse of I visited here again I would try the burger and fries to see how they do with that but I do believe they are overpriced.

First visit. Got treated to dinner after a long day of genealogy hunting in the area! Really good food. I ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken w/green beans & coleslaw. The green beans were made with bacon The coleslaw was a little sweet. and the chicken was crispy and moist. The gravy just added to all of it. Served hot and just the right amount of food. I found my meal Delicious. If you’re in the area, stop in and try them out. Ps. The chicken serving is a bit larger. It looked so good I started eating, before I realized I need to take a pic.

We’ve eaten here about half a dozen times when we come up to visit my daughter at HCC. It’s a great place and the town is lucky to have it. Everything is reasonably priced and tastes great. This time I had a chicken salad. It was large, filling and delicious. If we ever come back to Highland, we’ll eat here again!

We order a appetizer and two sandwiches we got out sandwiches before our appetizer. The girl that brought our food out was very rude. The waiter over once to see how your food was we told him how the girl acted. But never come back by to see if we need anything else. Was not a very friendly atmosphere.

Food and the place are good, it’s some of the staff that is the problem and why I am giving one star. I have never in my life been treated so disrespectfully by someone who works in customer service. Katie Joe the snotty rude bartender ignored me the whole time I tried to get service. I noticed she done this with just about every female that came up to the bar to get service. No problem for the men, she helped them right out. This was not my first time in here, never had a problem before until this bar tender was working. Never thought I would write a bad review about a good small town restaurant, but this done it. I was not the only person she was extremely rude to either. Still can’t believe the rudeness and disrespect. Need better customer service skills or a new job.
