Ono Hawaiian BBQ is a chain restaurant that offer good healthy food. It is located in a huge plaza on Valley Blvd and Almansor. Interior atmosphere is nice, clean, organized and well lit. Service is moderately slow but they do okay. Prices are affordable. Staff (Stephany, Angela,Thalia and Emalie) are nice, competent and professional. They should be given a pay raise. Parking lot is huge, so you won’t have a problem. Overall, it’s a decent place to grab food.

Oh, there sure is a lot to say about Ono’s, and it’s all good. If you’re into macaroni salad like I am, Ono’s will scratch that itch for you. It’s so delicious, with a creamy texture and crunchy carrot bits as well as a unique pasta noodle flavor. It cannot be beat!

After cashier calling every number from 137 to146 they finally called mine,141. I ordered the white fish. When I got home I opened the container. Looks good. Good presentation. Took a bite of the rice, nothing special. Just rice, no seasonings. Took a bite of macaroni salad, again, nothing special. Then the fish. Hum, crispy but no seasonings. I was expecting the meal to have some pineapple flavor, maybe coconut? Overall, I’m not impressed.

The food is excellent and consistent. Prices are reasonable for what you get, and there is a decent selection. There has been a lunch rush the last few times I’ve been there, and large orders that have been phoned in or ordered online can make the service slower than I would like, especially when I just want a spam musubi (which Ono does perfectly). But it’s the luck of the draw. Some lunch breaks I can be in and out with plenty of time to spare. And the food makes it always worth it.
