Deninos Pizzeria is a landmark in New York, with our award winning, thin-crust pizza. We originally opened in 1937 as a full tavern on Richmond Avenue, Staten Island until Carlo Denino introduced Pizza in 1951. Since then, Deninos Pizzeria and Tavern has been renowned for our pizza pie and Italian dinner platters, which we always prepare fresh daily. We use our familys recipes for Chicken Parmigiana, Meatballs and Sausage and over the years we’ve added our own version of tavern favorites like Wings, Scungilli and Hero Sandwiches. Everything is always made from scratch, never frozen, and cooked to order.

Today I ate here for the first and last time, after ordering a Panini Stromboli the waiter asked “Fries or chips with that.” Who in their right mind has potato chips or french fries with “Italian Food?” My “Italian Panini Stromboli” arrived covered in very good french fries. Once I uncovered my “Italian Panini Stromboli” from the delicious fries, I found what I would call a “Meat and Grease” thing. The thin crust pizza looks good but it is smaller than most of the better pizzas that I have ordered. The picture reflects only half of my “Italian Panini Stromboli.”

Any review higher than 1 star was obviously written by customers who don’t know decent food. I am a full blooded Italian and have been here twice and the pizza was disgusting both times. Was here today Monday, ordered two slices which apparently were old and soaked with oil, stiff as a boat, and topped with dried up tomato sauce. If that what you like go to Denino’s.

I was very disappointed by the food and the atmosphere. I ordered a spinach salad and a side of garlic knots I received a soup plate which contained: about two cups of spinach leaves topped by one apple sliced in four fans, two tablespoons of goat cheese and two tbsp of walnut pieces. Cleverly placed in a little plastic cup was some sweet hot pink “dressing ” which could be poured over the salad It was very difficult to eat. All of the components had to be eaten separately until I had cleared enough room in the bowl to mix them together . The dish had obviously been assembled in advance as it was rather dessicated and the apples were a bit brown . The garlic knots were very greasy and the sauce with them was watery and tasteless.

Awesome spot in brick worth the drive as it is by far the best pizza spot in the area. Thin crispy crust on every pie you can’t go wrong. I’ve never had any of their other dishes (pasta/meat) but I’ve been in a group and the portions are generous and rave reviews all around. Parking can be tough on the weekends but for good reason

Drove from Lacey to Brick to fix our pizza hankering – delicious as usual. Well done is what you need to ask for, every time. In addition to pizza we had Italian wedding soup- superb as well. Fyi- it’s BYOB!

Having lived on Staten Island Deninos was the special treat to get pizza from. I moved to NJ and longed from real pizza and then Deninos opened up in Brick NJ a few years ago, finally good pizza and it was. Today I had a urge to drive to get real pizza but was I disappointed. I order a margarita pie. The crust was thin and tasty but that’s where it ended, the tomato sauce tasted canned and was very acidity, the basil was dull in color and the cheese was not abundant as in the past.

Went for pizza, got a plain pie and vodka pie with added sausage. Definitely delicious, wish there was more sausage especially since we paid extra. Pizza is very crispy not chewy like other NJ pizzerias

I ordered two dinners eggplant parm and supposedly ravioli parmesan which wasn’t made right . The eggplant had to be Frozen not fresh it was still not cooked all the way when we got it mushy. I asked for a side of meatballs when I went there was told it was $47 which I was floored because we got no bread no salad our dinners were not worth any amount of like that. The manager was nice he explained he doesn’t make the prices. I think they should stick to pizza I’ve had that and that’s great but the food is not up to par.
