A very new concept of Korean BBQ. The server cooks meat for you instead of cooking ourselves as all usual K-BBQ restaurants. At first, it seemed weird just because of what I’m used to, cooking to my liking, the speed that I enjoy. But soon I changed my views on this. The server cooked the meat just right, in the right order, and with perfect timing. I could simply enjoy my meal at a good speed and without being busy or rushed. I normally leave K-BBQ places with a smell of BBQ all over me which is nothing to complain about but since the grill and the vent above are away from your table no such worries here.

This place has everything going for it, so I was very surprised to be so let down. Starting out, the service was phenomenal. I think our guys name was Stephen and he was awesome! That’s where it stopped for me. The food, for the price point it was at, was mediocre. VERY limited sauce or seasoning to go with the meat, one just being plain salt. There were 3 sides to accompany the meat, albeit they were tasty, i would expect a bit more. The meat seems to be cooked only one way, whatever the majority of the table wants, so that’s also a bit of an issue. All and all, i can sum it all up like this: Great atmosphere, overpriced, and not enough food.

Superb service and tasty dishes! It was my fiancé’s first time enjoying BBQ and this new place did not disappoint. This restaurant is different from typical Korean BBQ in that the cooking is done for you, which work as a great introduction for folks new to this cuisine. We ordered combo B, with two beef, two chicken, and two pork dishes. We loved all the dishes but our favorites were the bulgogi, the brisket, and the pork collar. Delicious! We also got a refill of the pickled veggies – and I usually don’t eat my veggies! I especially enjoyed the pickled radish. Our meal also included egg soufflé, soup with tofu, and cheese corn. My fiancé devoured the cheese corn. The rice was sushi grade as well and I wound up having two entire bowls! We finished the meal with a digestive aid cinnamon type drink, which was refreshing. 5 stars across the board. Great atmosphere and perfect for our date night or family dinner or hanging out with friends! Can’t wait to return.

QUALITY!!! I’ve eaten at several KBBQ places in NoVa, and now with Bulpan Korean BBQ in Charlottesville I’ll have an easy to get to dedicated KBBQ spot! Our server Josh was informative, friendly, and great at cooking the meats! The set up is unique, there’s a short barrier separating the table and grills that the servers use, making conversation and enjoying the food easier. The quality of the meats, sides, and drinks definitely make the price point worth it! The vibes are there, and I can’t wait to return with more friends!

Hands down the best Korean restaurant in Charlottesville! The quality of the food is impeccable, service is so friendly, and the atmosphere is really fun. My husband and I are really impressed! We moved here from Northern Virginia last year and have been looking for quality bbq. I’ll be coming back here and spreading the word! We ordered the combo B and loved it.

Unlike the other KBBQ place in town, they serve banchans here, which provide much needed relief when you are going through all the meats. Meat was cooked well and comes with free soup. Service is great.
