Nice little out of the way spot for a quick, wholesome, and homemade meal. Super friendly staff and lots of regular, repeat customers.

Very simple and delicious. The best meal I have had in a long time. Split items with my lunch guest and had the 1/2 size gumbo, a brisket stuffed backed potato, lime shrimp and grits, trout with pasta salad, and lump crab with roasted asparagus. Finished it off with the blackberry cobbler. Everything was top notch.

It appears to be a little hole in the wall, BUT… the service was lovely, the Charleston trees lovely in it’s own pot, the chicken stuffed shells (all but the pasta from scratch), and especially the brussel sprouts were amazing!

Stopped in for a late lunch and was surely impressed by it all. The tea, food, prices and ambiance.

Once you get past the menu not having all items priced because the price of ingredients fluctuates, you will discover the food is excellent. We had the lamb burger, pasta salad and zuppa toscana soup. Every bite was full of flavor and absolutely delicious. And, the ice tea from the Charleston Tea Garden was outstanding! I do want to mention that we were so confused and frustrated by the lack of prices on the menu along with the waitress was very new and unable to answer questions that we almost left. The owner was kind enough to come out to explain the reason all items were not priced, gave us the current pricing as we asked about items and explained the meaning of the tiny hole in the corner of the locally made pottery plates we were eating from. She is very passionate about using locally sourced ingredients whenever possible. The restaurant was clean. A suggestion to help customers be less confused would be to put a dry erase board up with the regular menu items along with the current pricing. There are daily specials on a board with a price. But, the soups and desserts listed on the same board had no prices. Even with that we were charged $10 for the lamb burger special when the price on the board was $9. We didn’t realize this until we got to the car and did not go back in to ask about it. We would return and would recommend!

Stopped in for a quick bite. Never tired this place before. Food was good. Little light on seasoning, presentation was great! People were very nice. Prices were reasonable. Will certainly come back.

I attempted to leave a review on DoorDash, and it had limited options. Find this place, go and eat or order take out, or DoorDash it! Absolutely amazing and good. I would much rather spend my money here, than at a fast food chain restaurant with GMO synthetic food. Great staff, great service and amazing food! If I do not have the time to cook a good meal…I have and will, order from The Humble Plate!

Don’t let the exterior fool you. Great food can be found here. My wife and I got 2 meals, tea with 3 refills and banana pudding for $ 22.00. Place looks crude but the food is excellent. I highly recommend this place. Great food. Great service. Say Hi to the server Kimberly for me!
