Originating in Knoxville during the 1982 World’s Fair, Petro’s is back open in downtown Knoxville! The signature Petro is a barrel of deliciousness featuring your choice of our original chicken (97% lean) or plant-based chilis, Frito’s and your preferred toppings (typically cheese, diced tomatoes, sour cream, green onion, olives & jalapeños….but also guacamole, grilled chicken, BBQ pulled pork and more!). The tastiness doesn’t end there. Our Hint-of-Orange Iced Tea, which is freshly brewed to perfection throughout the day and features just a hint of orange, is also an award-winning crowd favorite.
Our menu also features giant baked potatoes, made-to-order wedge salads, 100% beef hot dogs, crave-worthy nachos and Christie® Cookies.

First time eating here on the recommendation from a friend. What a find!!! One of the most flavorful meals I’ve ever had: Pulled pork Petro. The flavors combined in this little cup will be hard to beat at any other top-dollar, fancy restaurant. The layering of foods allows you to taste all the different flavors in every bite without being overpowering. The sweet tea with an orange slice was also a little different, but the flavor was unique in itself. Usually I go with lemon or lime in my tea, but I’ve never thought about trying orange. The staff was very helpful & patient with me since it was my first time there & I had several questions. I wish there was a location near us in SC. Maybe I need to open one

Located in Market Square, Petro’s is an amazing establishment that offers top notch service. Even coming in just minutes before closing, I was greeted with smiles and a great attitude. The food tasted fresh and not as if I was getting the last of whatever was left at the end of the day. Being from out of town, I will make sure to stop by the next time I’m in the area.

I came here with my brother to get dinner right before the orchestra concert we’re both playing in. Our food in total was 23 dollars but we only had a 20 dollar bill; the cashier covered the 3 dollars himself, out of his own wallet. He was one of the kindest and most polite waiters I have ever met. It was an incredible experience and great act of kindness!!

Petros is where most of my eating out money goes. I love them. They always get my order right and their tea is as good as they say. Love u Petros please notice me. Wait they should have punch cards. Try that out and give me credit.

6=22/23 12pm The place has really been spruced up with plants, sauce caddies and retro posters. Just a suggestion when training the brand new young folks, remind them the value of a smile and a hello..place looks great ,food great and staff is awesome

Petro’s is Petro’s and I don’t like their tea but they have other stuff there so it’s all good. The soda kinda subpar, though.

Ate there twice. The Petro Potato is my new fave. The lady running the place appeared to be training new staff each time I was there, and she was thorough, pleasant, and was gracious to them as well as to each and every customer. It was my first experience to the legendary Southern way of calling everyone “hon” or “darling”. I could very easily get used to this!!
