We made an unplanned stop and ended up at Haywood Smokehouse for lunch. We were glad we did. Our food was great, and made quickly. The salads are fresh, the mac and cheese and french fries were good and the wings are great too. I usually not a fan of smoked wings, but they deep fry them to give them the extra crunch.

Really great food and super fantastic service! Had a large party and they got us in quick and food came out quick too. Lots of options for sauces too. Had the Texas melt with collard greens. So good! Brisket quesadilla was pretty amazing too.

This is our first time to Franklin and this is the first place we went. Everything we had was excellent. We did takeout because it didn’t have an outdoors area for our dog. We will absolutely return.

We’ve kind of been avoiding Haywood’s because the quality of the brisket just hasnt been good the past couple times but we ordered dinner tonight because we were craving brisket. It was terrible. It’s just gotten worse. The brisket was like leather & couldn’t even be chewed. There was absolutely no moisture at all, it was just so dry. It wasn’t falling apart, it was crumbling because it was so dry. Really disappointing. Putting BBQ sauce on it didn’t even help, still dry.

2023 – We were back in the area today and had to visit again. It was just as good today as we remembered it being previously. The brisket was moist and tender and the pulled pork sandwich was wonderful too. It was good, but the Mac N Cheese had just a little too much pepper for my taste.

We just happened into this sauce while traveling. The brisket was so flavorful, delicious and moist I really didn’t want to put any of the great sauces available. The ribs were the same. Both had a nice bark with great flavor. We ordered just meat due to keto diet. 1 full rack and 1lb brisket. We took home a half rack for a meal the next day. There is a nice selection of beer from local breweries as well as domestic beers. The sides looked and sounded wonderful. There is also berry cobbler on menu.

Service is prompt and courteous, food is better than your average BBQ joint. The combination of attentive service and great food makes the choice to go here an easy one. Very friendly and nice servers. Andouille Sausage was on the menu for my 2nd visit and I loved it too. Chicken Next time…

What a great BBQ place ! just laid back and friendly. There were four of us there and everything that we had was just great. Loved the smoked beans and pulled pork. The wife said the Collards were great, I wouldn’t know as I don’t do greens. If we are ever back in Franklin, NC we will stop in again.

Chicken was amazing juicy but lacked any flavor. Ribs were dry and also lack flavor. Our waitress was super nice and really made our experience awesome. However the Brunswick was bad….I mean really bad. It tasted like it came from the bottom of a pot or pan where it may have been burned but water was added to try and bring it back to life. The sides were all pretty good. Would I recommend this place yes !!!.. they have good sauces, but if you stay with the chicken and sides it’s a winner.
