Been by the Salem Oak Diner many times, but never stopped by. I finally decided to pull over and give the place a try. A diner straight out of the past, it was cozy, had the traditional long counter and a few booths with jukeboxes at each table! I was there for lunch and ordered a salad and a grilled cheese w/bacon sandwich. One of the best I’ve ever had!! I’m so glad I stopped into the Salem Oak Diner! I will absolutely be back!!

This is a new fav of mine. Love how everything is original 1950’s! Very chill and laid back staff and they know 99% of every customers name. Food is really good, staff is nice, facilities are clean. Good vibes all around. Def stop in if you’re in the Salem area.

Quintessential jersey diner, though not a large one. The food was fantastic, menu prices were reasonable, and the specials even better. The western omelette, home fries and toast, were all perfectly done with large portions. Service was quick and friendly to round out an overall great diner experience.

Mold in cake and they knew it was old. That means no one took the time to toss it.

Don’t let the look of this place turn you away. Appears very rough/dilapidated from the outside and the inside isn’t much better but the food was actually very good. Went for breakfast and got a large amount of good food (eggs, omelet, pancakes, potatoes etc.) for a reasonable price. Pancakes, eggs, especially sausage links were all very enjoyable. Employees seemed understaffed and not very personable but would surely go back (for breakfast only) just because of the food.
