Love this little restaurant. The simplicity of this restaurant reminds me of Italy. The dishes are prepared the same way. Not over done with a lot of sauces or spices. We shared the fried calamari, served with a red pepper aloli and lemon. The calamari was fried perfectly and the aloli gave a little pop and color to the dish. The sirloin steak was prepared as requested was tender and with a sauce that was rich in flavor. Mashed potatoes was the side. The wines were pared nicely with our dinner. People may view all mentioned as ‘plain’ or ‘bland’ but you were able to taste the food, enjoy the atmosphere and your friend without distractions.

The ambience is nice and I like the outdoor seating. The service was accommodating. I felt that the portion sizes were stingy. A half order is less than I would expect to be served to a child. I was surprised that customers pay for bread. After tasting four meals there, I continue to find them to be surprisingly bland.

This was not the right place for us to eat. First, we were in Carlisle for a car show and our hotel recommended this place. We were seated immediately however we did not receive food here for two hours. And then when the food came out one of the dishes was not correct. We had to wait for them to cook another dish. Prices are admittedly not bad and the food was ok. Not spectacular. Also, we have children, small ones….This is not a place for them. If you are looking for a cheap date night and don’t mind waiting, I would say this is the place for you.

I’ve been to this restaurant several times and it had been better in the past. when you go to an expensive Italian restaurant I would expect at least receive a roll and maybe some olive oil or butter while you’re waiting for your food. They had in the past given breadsticks with your meal now they charge you for bread. The chicken that I ordered was Bland and the steak that my wife had adequately cooked was nothing special and I’ve had better steaks in the local Diner. The only vegetable that came with my chicken was one slice of an artichoke heart. In short there was nothing there that would make me want to come back. While the food was not terrible I would be hard-pressed to say that it was good.

Well attended. Located in a Historic sector of Carlisle. The entire menu has awesome selections to satisfy any taste buds. Servings are not huge where you roll.lut over stuffed! Matt is a great server, knowledgeable, caring and kind. When summer months come I’ll try their quaint outdoor seating.

Great service, lousy food, horribly overpriced. They charged $2/basket of bread and didnt serve it with olive oil or anything. If you wanted spreads for the bread it was $4. The ravioli was flavorless and tough. The sauce was watery and bland. The chicken was dry and the broccoli was flavorless, limp and overcooked.

Dined at Piatto last evening for the first time. I absolutely loved the eggplant. Their baked stuffed eggplant was the best I’ve ever had. Love the food and the building! A must for dinner the next time you visit Carlisle, Pa.

In Carlisle this is simply the best place to eat. Don’t fail to order the lamb chops! Go Ross and Team!! It’s all great at Piatto and the atmosphere is cooool. Oh, and the desserts? Make sure to leave some room! Really, this is a top quality place and the pricing is quite reasonable.

My wife and I were very concerned about some of the reviews posted on Piatto. We have been dining here since it was a BYOB establishment as we passed through on I-81. We decided to give it a try again since we were traveling through from the Finger Lakes. Dinner was exactly what we wanted – simple, fresh Italian food cooked perfectly with great service (although it was not crowded on a Tuesday evening after Memorial Day). Although you now have to pay for bread, it came out hot and a perfect size for two. A split salad (basil, mozzarella, and tomato) and an entree each were all we needed, leaving no room for their wonderful desserts. Best of all, their Italian wines by the 500 ml carafe were perfect for the two of us before hitting the road south. We will return…

First thing is they charge for bread. At an Italian restaurant? Broccoli was grey and way overcooked . Pork chops were also overcooked. Chicken parm had no mozzarella on it, only parmesan . Chicken saltimboca was too. I’ve had better Italian meals at a pizza joint . Maybe it’s good for Carlisle but not by my standards .
