Breakfast at Tamiami Tavern, 10361 Tamiami Trail, Punta Gorda. I ordered the Corned beef hash skillet-breakfast potatoes with onions and peppers, corned beef hash, topped ,with shredded cheddar cheese and two over easy eggs. Hubby ordered the Classic Benedict- english muffin split and topped with Canadian bacon, a soft poached egg and house made hollandaise. Both were generous portions and quick out of the kitchen. Moreover, it was delicious to say the least. Atmosphere is causal, prices reasonable and service excellent! Plenty of parking space. I’m definitely returning to try out the lunch menu. Open All Week, 8am – 9pm for Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner!

Had a very nice experience here. Food and service was exceptional. I had the lobster and shrimp linguine and it was delicious. Had an Irish coffee for dessert. Superb. Relatively small venue but very popular. They are efficient and if you call or email ahead from website, your wait time shouldn’t be very long. Cannot do reservations.

April 4, 2023 . Reserved a spot online walked in and took a table immediately the place was packed. It’s always packed. The bar is always full. The vibe is great Ross, our server, talented, attentive, and on task as usual the food was fresh and delicious and Chef Ryan is a master of layering flavors, we had the new barrel potato balls on a better fresh arugula scrumptious the sauce was a bit too spicy for my husband, but I loved it. He had the chicken, Parm fresh vegetables, substituted onion rings for the mashed potatoes and I had the crabcake dinner with delicious Parmesan, risotto and grilled asparagus. It was great.

Gourmet food in a relaxed atmosphere. I had the Lobster and Shrimp Fettuccine Alfredo, and man was it loaded with huge Lobster pieces and Shrimp that popped in my mouth. My table partner had the Fish and Chips. Huge piece of fish delicate and flaky with a lightly coated batter. Plenty to eat, that’s for sure. Kudos to Justin our waiter, he had a great personality and was very attentive to our needs. I will be back for sure. Jeff S. North Port Florida.

We were curious to see if the place was as good as it looked. Before it was Tamiami Tavern it was our Favorite place to go, a beautiful little Italian place, when staying in our home in Seminole Lakes, especially since it’s right outside the gate of our community. This was our first trip since 2019, and we were sad to see our Italian spot was no longer. The inside was remodeled beautifully and the atmosphere and staff were friendly and inviting. It was around 6pm on a random Tuesday and very busy. We did not have to wait for a table. My husband got the French onion soup, burger, and fries and I ordered the tuna tacos. The soup was good, better than most restaurants that attempt french onion soup. The burger was okay.the fries were good. The two tuna tacos were not good. The description of blackened tuna with slaw, pico de Gallo and a lime crema and cheese sounded delicious. They came out and looked pretty and were very big, filled very full but not so good. I get that tuna is cooked to be “medium” however it seemed more like sushi with a slight bit of seasoning and warmed slightly, but by the time our food came out it was cold. The tortilla was cold, not warmed, not grilled, not warmed in a skillet, not even microwaved; Fresh out of the package, in my opinion. The slaw, pico, and crema were the only edible portions. I think I could have picked a way better dinner option and would have had a better meal. Though we were seated quickly we waited a long time for our food. Several people that came in way after us were getting their food way way before us. And they ordered fish and things that were not “simple”. Our server, Sabrina, was super nice and the host was super friendly. I would love to give them another chance since we live SO CLOSE, walking distance on a nice day. Hopefully next time we are in Punta Gorda we will revisit and have a better time.

Found this little gem while looking for a place to have a drink waiting for our friends flight. They have a large draft beer selection and friendly bartenders. The menu looked great, so we came back again to try the food. I was a bit disappointed in what I ordered, the gnocchi was hard, the brussel sprouts too, but the scallops were cooked perfectly. I took a risk ordering something you aren’t going to find anywhere else, and it didn’t work out. The wild mushroom soup has great flavor, but it was more of a bisque, the mushrooms pureed. The cheese on the French onion soup was not melted and we sent it back to have it melted, but our first time there it came out perfect. Out of 6 of us, 3 we’re happy with their food. The ribeye was delicious. It is a small place and fills up fast around dinner time. You may even have to park on the grass. We’ll definitely try it again, I have to try the tuna nachos!

Last week, I had delicious crab cakes with perfectly cooked risotto & asparagus served by long-time local Bartender Mike, who’s always topnotch, friendly & pleasant. This week, I had incredibly delicious lobster & shrimp fettuccini served by Jessica, who’s also topnotch, friendly & pleasant. The lobster bisque is very delicious (oyster crackers available) & when I asked for some extra sherry, there was no charge. Jessica suggested using the remainder of the sherry on the fettuccini which was really great. I heard the fish & chips is very good when cooked on the crispy side. It is loud with the bar in the center of the room but nice to have lots of stools. I was surprised to see the many draft beers available.
