More like 3.5…Staff is nice, (chef?) walked around to check on customers even if it is not a table service:) However, my Korean garlic chicken was a bit too chewy and seemed reheated instead of freshly cooked. Unagi was good portion. Veggie choices are good, even offers pickled onion! I appreciate the different choices on the menu, so I don’t mind trying something else for another review. Just this first time wasn’t great for me.

Combo meals are for sharing between 2-3people. Huge portions and I wasn’t paying attention to the guy taking our orders he kept saying it’s for sharing. I still ordered 5 different combos for 5 people. We had leftovers for another meal. He was nice enough to tell suggest what to order since it was our first time here and we had lots of questions.. The food was delicious. They have a variety of sides to choose from.. The owner came up to us at the table to make sure our orders were correct. Not too crazy about the place for eat in and the restroom was hmm how should I say it – just don’t use it. Maybe we’ll just order carry out next time.

Not the same generousity as market city, bit stingy here – plates are smaller and its not just the sides. Price is the same. Market city loads it up, but not here! QC on food is also poor – my combo plate had only 4 small cuts of meat jun and all end piece… Wait time also is longer probably cause it’s new and not as efficient with a system.

I have mixed reviews about Gina’s in Kapolei. I have ordered takeout three times, and each time, we ordered the same takeout. My first visit was on a weekday, and the food was spot on. I ordered two combo plates of Kalbi / Meat Jun and Kalbi / Barbecue Chicken and a side of Deep fried oyster. The Vegetables were fresh, and My wife and I were delighted with the Kalbi. The oysters were crispy, and we were convinced we had found a great place for Korean Takeout. Our next takeout order was on a Saturday; we ordered everything the same the results were a disappointment because there seemed to be a lack of love in the preparation of our food. The oysters were soggy, and the Kalbi and chicken were tough and dry. What I did notice was the cook was different. So we went again on a weekday, and we had the original cook, and the quality was back to where it should be. I recommend going on a weekday. The person cooking your food does make a difference.

I’m used to having to cook Korean BBQ myself so this was great! I asked for sauce and he said it was well marinated (I got the Kal bi plate)…. He was right. No sauce needed! Everything was so good.

All ways amazing customer service! Finally they have a spot in the west side!!!! My mom used to take us to the original spot on Kapahulu, but this just hits the crave everytime! The staff is always genuine and the food is always amazing.
