Came in here as we were passing by town, they say usually that the places that look the worst have the best food but the food here is just as bad as the ambiance. I paid $16 for a grey burger the size of my palm! Definitely not coming back

Paid 16$ for a flavorless meatball on toast and about 16 fries. I think they split one order of fries between us. Took about 45 minutes for me and a friend who ordered the same thing, to get our “snack”.

Went there this past Sunday morning and it was PACKED! Even so, our waitress was super friendly and literally hustled to make sure we didn’t wait too long for our food. Our food was cooked perfectly and the atmosphere of a bustling diner was actually a really nice thing for a rainy morning.

The food and decor here is average while the service was excellent. Had a Santa Fe salad that seemed to have fresh lettuce, fresh apples, fresh almonds, but the vinaigrette tasted a bit off. The waitress was attentive and knowledgeable and delivered my food quickly.

Our group of four ordered a short stack pancakes, short stack french toast, grilled cheese, and a deluxe veggie burger. Service was inattentive, hurried, and not friendly or inviting. The pancakes were ok, not fluffy and soft. The grilled cheese was soggy, the bread not crisped enough. And the burgers only come with a bun, you have to upgrade to deluxe to get basic fixings (lettuce, tomato) and cheese is an upcharge on top of that. The coleslaw was the standard average sweet affair. Not worth the $70 bill.

The service and management is incredibly rude and unaccommodating to customers. Waitress and manager arguing with the customer that man is his not dressing so when we ordered the sandwich without dressing they still put mayonnaise and did not want a refund it unless we brought the sandwich back 20 minutes away. Super overpriced and the sweet potato fries were soggy and gross. They’re also $4 of charge if you want to replace it for regular french fries.

Although prices have gone up like everywhere else I’ve been enjoying the Plaza Diner food and atmosphere for the past 22 years. It’s centrally located in the current Tops plaza, an easy walk across the parking lot from the affordable New Paltz Movies Theatre. It offers a number of chargers for electric bicycles if one doesn’t feel like driving or taking the free Loop bus, and it’s an easy walk back to the SUNY College campus.

Really disappointing. Went in hoping for quick bite of breakfast. Ended up spending $22.00 for two cups of coffee, a terrible excuse for a cheese danish, and one unrecognizable something that was supposed to be sausage and eggs.
