We are a locally owned restaurant that has been owned and operated by the same owner since opening in 1991. We want to create a friendly environment where every customer is treated like family. The owner and staff try to remember every face that walks through the door to keep a small town feel. We truly care about the food we serve and we are so grateful for anyone who comes through the door. All of the food is made in house including chips and salsa made daily. Las Chavelas. If you’re looking for good mexican food in North Idaho give this place a try. The chips are hot. The “hot” salsa actually has a lil kick (hard to find here in The Panhandle). The food is freshly prepared with lots of meat filling. The birria tacos came with a side of hot sauce that starts to scratch the itch when looking for some good heat and was definitely spicier than the hot salsa served with the chips. Jenna was a great server as well. Looking forward to my next visit.

Have not been here in 10 years, and I am sorry that I have been missing out. We were warmly welcomed as soon as we walked in the door. Excellent service. Great selection and easy to read menu. I am impressed that “Gluten-free” choices are labeled. Food was better than expected. Came out fast and was delicious. Marcos was our very attentive super Server. Save room for dessert. The flan is perfecto!
