Delightful afternoon. Meal, service, everything. One tip for the greeter, when guests show up, don’t ask, “Can I help you?”it’s, well, off-putting. It’s a restaurant and we didnt have deliveries to make and there were no other businesses nearby so, yes dear, we’re doing what people do when they stand at the entryway of a dining establishment looking directly at you, we’re there to dine. Now, “Do you have a reservation?”may have been a better question. Otherwise, our server was an No food pics, however, as beautiful as was tasty. Next time for sure.

Aug 2023 our 1st time here. Lots of parking. Indoor and outdoor seating with an outdoor bar. Sat night there was a live band outdoors. Drinks come out fast. Our food order got messed up, as in 1 of the 3 apps never got to us, but that’s ok. The rest was delicious. The people watching and views were amazing. We didn’t see any kids while we were here. On Sat night it seems like it’s a “dress to impress”. Obviously shorts and tank top/t-shirts are ok. But many of the women wore cute summer dresses.

I was looking forward to the food and drove over two hours due to I road construction. Sunset Grille was a disappointment. Our waiter was great but the food was horrible. The food was not seasoned and my dish (Pan Aeared Scallops) were not hot (temperature). The Lobster Bisque (hot) and Oysters were good. This will be my last time.

7/23/23 – Arrived around 2pm with no reservation and asked for table in the shade, the host said she could only seat us in the sun, as all the shaded tables were reserved, even though there were many open shaded tables available in plain sight. We decided to sit at the bar that was also in the sun, but was our best option. We sat for over an hour watching countless tables open up in the shaded area, with no party coming in to claim them. By the time we left, more than half of the shaded area had open tables with no one sitting in them for over an hour. Unless everybody cancelled or no showed, there was no way all those tables were reserved. It’s a shame that this person is in charge to make decisions for the business.

Made a last minute reservation for Friday at 8:45 and we’re seated promptly. The dock is beautiful with a nice view of the sunset which was a huge plus. As the sun went down there were SO many beetles- but I expect such coming in. They also had a live band playing which was awesome. The food was good, nothing out of this world but it was prepared well. I ordered the swordfish special and oysters. However the worst part of the meal was the drinks. They were so sugary and I wasn’t impressed at all, should have stuck to beer. All in all, come here for the view and the vibe, I could pass on everything else.

I am very upset by the way I was treated by the hostess. I called to ask if there was any availability for 2. They said they didn’t have anything available for 45min. Unless I wanted to sit at the bar. I was there in my car so I figured I don’t mind the bar. So I went to the front and spoke to hostess again told her I had just called and that I was just waiting for my daughter. As I am standing there waiting for my daughter. They accommodated 2 different families with out reservation. I love going to this place the food is good although pricey and the vibe is good, but I don’t know why the last 2 times I’ve been there I’ve felt discriminated against. I am not the type of person to write reviews or pull the race card at all. But this time I really felt that I was discriminated against. I called and spoke to the manager the man I spoke with was Felipe. Of course he wanted to accommodate me at that point. But the principal is it should have never happened. I am also a business owner and I respect every client that come to me equally. Guess I’ll just go to Sono Seaport from now on. They also have great food not as pricey as Sunset but the staff is great and they have been working there for many years. That says a lot about a business.
