Before going to Ro’s especially for pizza you need to be in the mood specifically to go to Ro’s for pizza. I’ll explain; This isn’t your normal New Haven style thin crust pizza. It’s not thick like a Sicilian or Greek pizza. It’s not simple like a cafeteria pizza on a Friday in school. (The best!)

I first had my slice in 1966. It was some thing I’ll never forget. The message sausage balls in the middle of that deep dish cheese pie with cheesy crust and wonderful marinara sauce. I’ve kept going back when I can. There were chunks of time when I couldn’t. five years here, 10 years there. And I prayed it didn’t close. And it didn’t. This is a neighborhood joint from 1948, my favorite era in movies and pizza. I moved closer 13 years ago but still it’s a 30 minute drive. I go about once a month. I don’t wanna get too fat. I dream about it and every once in a while my dream comes true and I go get a pie best $22 you ever spent. And really really nice people. A great family place. I’m so happy to be able to share the love, but be cool, don’t tell everybody ❤️

This is more like Greek pizza versus a place cooking brick oven as there is no char to the bottom of the pizza and the crust was thick. Good staff at the bar with drinks. Just not a great pizza place unless you like Greek style.

As about old time as you can get in the best way possible! One of my personal favorites of the area. Love how they do the crust and that parmesan around it. Not only is it the perfect thickness but the perfect ingredients and service every time. Shout out to you guys!

I been coming here for years and went out if comfort zone of getting 3 large cheese pizzas and got a buffalo chicken and I’m happy I did as our table 7 all agreed it was delicious. The food is Fresh, HOT and comes to the table Fast!! We like to eat in as they serve real dishes and silverware with our pies. They have many booths and will push tables together for larger groups.

I ordered half sausage and mushroom and half plain cheese. The sausage was fresh and very tasty and not too sweet. The taste of the fresh cut mushrooms stood out just right on the flavor.
