Stopped in for lunch yesterday, 8/27. Met the owner. Fantastic guy, told him I was moving to town, he immediately welcomed me, in the midst of giving one of the regulars a hard time. Food was fantastic, some of the best homemade chips I’ve ever had!

Not impressed. Prime rib was flavorless and a little tough. Waited 40 minutes to get the Cheese curd appetizer and they weren’t fully cooked. My salad came 3 minutes before my meal. Soda is sold at $2 per can so if you want a refill it will cost you another $2. Most of the homemade chips were soggy. The bartender tried to pass off rail scotch as top shelf and then took it upon his self to pour me a double on the rocks and charged me $20. When question, he said that since it is the only scotch he serves, it’s considered top shelf and he always pours a double without asking. $70 dollars was not worth it. We had gone to Madison the night before and had a wonderful meal of beef stroganoff and pork tenderloin at Buck & Honeys with several drinks and only paid $65. Apparently if you are not a regular local, they try to get the most out of you. They lost us as future customers and we only live 8 miles away.

I had the Cajun fish fry absolutely amazing. Was so good I did not use any tartar sauce. Frys cooked well. Drinks were good. Prices were fair. I would definitely go back.

I have a 5 star review also on here. But I have to leave this one also. First off, let me make it clear, the quality of the food is as great as ever………….when you get what you ordered. I gave it a few chances before I wrote this, because everyone has off days. But, our last few times there, it took a few times to get the orders right. Things left off the order, special orders not made special, etc. Not the end of the world. And they made it right. But it’s been the norm lately and never had any issues in the past. Also, it just kind of turned me off and annoyed me that I pointed at the tapper at the bar, asked “what is that?”, and she looked at the tapper and read the brewery name on it. I can see that! I said “no, what kind of beer is it?” She said “what do you mean?” I said “you know, Stout, IPA, etc etc”. She said with an annoyed tone, “I don’t know”. And then walked away. Came back like 5 minutes later, and said “you decide what you want to drink yet?” There were 5 other people in the place. It’s not like it was busy and she was flustered or anything, which I could be sympathetic to. But, it slowly seems to be becoming a place where if you are not getting a straightforward burger and fries and a Miller or Bud, be ready to get annoyed. I hope I’m not being too petty and critical. But I always held this place to a high bar, because they earned it and deserved it. It just seems like things are going slightly down hill and I hope it doesn’t continue. Still better than the majority of the local bars.

The cheese curds were excellent! I also had the crispy chicken ranch wrap with full garden options and bacon. There were no onions or cheese on it. Unfortunately it had very little flavor.

Amazing! We have been twice so far. First time we had the famous cheese curds, DELICIOUS! Also had the keg pound spicy bacon cheeseburger with fries and the prime rib sub with onions and mushrooms and mozzarella cheese with homemade chips, all turned out great, very filling and good. The second time we went we obviously got cheese curds again and ordered the keg philly cheese pizza which is pictured got home and it was super good! It says theres jalapeno cheddar as one of the cheeses so we thought it might be spicy because of that but it wasn’t spicy!

First time placing an order here. I had company over the weekend and we decided to order a pizza. I heard their pizza was quite good. We placed an order for a medium, 12-in pizza with four toppings. According to their online menu pricing, a 12-in pizza with four toppings and cheese should have been $19.50, even though they have a disclaimer on their website, saying prices are subject to change. Well, they charged us $28 for a 12-in, four topping pizza! Way too expensive! Again looking at their online menu, it looks as though they charged us the topping price for 16-in pizzas, rather than 12-in pizzas. In any case, that’s too much money for a couple slices of pizza. The pizza was good but not worth $28!
