Very unique environment. Staff were friendly and accommodating to a large group. Food was fabulous! Prices were reasonable, with very large portions. Set in an old home, the bedrooms are now individual eating areas with large tables, stained glass windows, gorgeous! Well worth the drive out!!!

What a great place, the service is great, our waitress was very nice and attentive, and the food was amazing, I had the brisket platter, so tender and the taste was great, my husband had the hog tie, the sandwich was huge and he truly enjoyed it. We can’t wait to go back.

Visited the Wooden Tie on a Saturday evening (2/22) and it was our first time visiting. While walking to the entrance the smokers were running and you could smell the smoke and it smelled so good, which I love the smell of smokers in action. The owners took and converted an old home into a restaurant. There was a good crowd there, we had to wait no more than 10 minutes before being seated. We were seated upstairs in one of the rooms of the house. Our waitress was friendly and got our drinks, she presented one special which was a smoked pork loin wrapped in smoked pork belly, plus 2 side items. My spouse ordered the brisket and two side items. For an appetizer we selected the homemade pork skins, they were really good, fresh and warm and seasoned well. Our dinner entrees arrived and they tasted just as good as they looked. My pork loin wrapped in pork belly had a nice smoke ring and the belly had a nice crispy skin. The pork loin was tender and flavorful, they brought a basket of sauces to put on the meat, I tried a couple of the different sauces – their Carolina golden sauce (mustard based) and their “Tie” Asian sauce were both really good. The side items I selected were the vegetable medley and pork and beans. The vegetable medley was a mix of carrots, broccoli and cauliflower, that was lightly charred on a grill and seasoned. The pork and beans were a mix of kidney, navy and pinto beans and the they used shredded pork in the sauce. Everything was hand made and really delicious. My spouse’s brisket was really good and full of smoke flavor. She selected mac & cheese and pickled beets. The Mac & cheese was homemade and not something that came from a box mix.

I drove over an hour away with warped rotors to try this place. I had heard many good things about the food and was not disappointed. The food was great and at a good price. You can really tell the food is made with quality ingredients. The staff were extremely friendly as well. If you get a chance to scope the place out you will notice beautiful woodworking pieces. Highly recommend, I will definitely be back.

My wife and I just stumbled upon this place and we were amazed how good everything was. I had the ribs and they were fantastic. My wife had the brisket sandwich and again fantastic and she loved her salad that came with it. I had the house chips ( AWESOME) and fries for my sides and the bread pudding for dessert just topped it off. We will definitely be back to what i would call a hidden gem.
