Good food! Great drinks! Awesome servers! Phenomenal atmosphere! The place to be any day of the week to unwind, chill and enjoy good company! Fridays and Saturdays are the best – Kelsey, Chloe and Rae will greet you with a smile and warm southern hospitality. You WILL NOT be disappointed. The fish tank bar is something else! Try the crab dip, salmon, seafood nachos, shrimp scampi, and don’t forget dessert and so much more tantalizing entrees and appetizers. Be sure to check out Bootleggers and Blackbeards too!

Triple play is a unique place! Three restaurants bats all attached owned by the same person but each has its own feel. Ones more sports bar, ones more restaurant and ones more brewery. It does really matter what you go to because you can order all menu items from either.

Really liked the atmosphere. The bar is an aquarium, which was really cool. The server was friendly. The crab dip was good, and the lobster Mac n Cheese.

We popped in for lunch and it was our first time here. Great selection of beer. I had a softshell crab sandwich and my wife had a burger. Both were very good. One of the best parts was talking with Stormy behind the bar. A fun place and we will be back when they have music.

I was on the Black Beards side but decided to try the Pirates Cove menu. I got the shrimp poy boy (first choice was flounder but they were out, second choice was oyster but they were out, so I went shrimp because what other options did I have) and if you see my picture there was a whopping 5 pieces of shrimp. I guess they’re running out of shrimp too. Anyways it wasn’t worth the money and the meal reminded me that some places like to provide the bar minimum for maximum profit.

Whoever the bartender was on Sunday early afternoon of this past week was lovely, the young woman with the ponytail! She made sure my mom and I had a nice brunch and made us some bangin bloody mary’s for us with the insane fried stuff stuck in it. She was so welcoming. My mom doesn’t get to go out much so it was nice to see her have so much fun and treated well. Also I’m still not over the aquarium bar?? It is so cool, I’ve never seen anything like it. And I loved all the variety on the sports tv’s. It was extremely fun to watch monster trucks and cornhole lol. If I lived back here again I feel like I’d be here all the time. For now, I’ll visit a bunch! Thanks!

What a great place to stop a short walk away from the water with plenty of parking within walking distance. The food has always been well worth the stop. My family “especially the grandkids” absolutely love this place. Whether you’d like a tasty burger, succulent snow crab, or just a nice mixed drink or beer to unwind they’ll look after you.

We rolled in as a party of 6 around 2:30pm on Saturday. This was our second time at the pirate cove and we were looking forward to dining with friends from MN. The place was pretty deserted, so we figured it would be a fast service. The food came out staggered, half the table got their order and the other half had to wait for 20 more minutes before they got “some” of their order. The seafood chowder was never delivered, we pulled the server aside and asked for it…then after another 30min we asked the server and they never even put it in. When the bill came, they charged a party of 6 gratuity across all of our bills. Which we were never notified about this policy (checked the menu and receipt with no mention). It’s like they knew the service was so bad that they wanted to milk every penny they could from us.

Although the Dungeness was unavailable (through No fault of there own) my lunch was still amazing.

Based on my one and only visit (after living two years in New Bern!), which was last Monday night, I enjoyed the local blues band and the beer prices are very reasonable compared with other downtown bars. Now that Tonic Parlor has sadly closed I will be back again to assess food and atmosphere – particularly early in the week.
