Mama D’s was established in 1997. The first location was on Roebling Avenue until 2006 when the owner, Yvette Robinson became ill and had to retire. After being away from the restaurant business for 12 years and seeing the decline in authentic, quality food, Mama D’s Soul Food 2 has decided to re-emerge! I placed an order on Grubhub for turkey wings, Mac n cheese and collard greens. Food was horrible. Turkey wings were burnt, dry and salty. It was so dry the meat couldn’t fall off the bone. That went in the garbage. The collard green were ok, missing some seasoning. Mac n cheese had no flavor.

Second time that I have ordered turkey wings and got at least one diseased turkey wing. I started buying food from Mama D’s about 2 years ago. Food has gotten disappointing as time goes on. I’m done.

We visited this place before going to a Monster Jam show. I wasn’t to sure about it since there was no one else there, but decided to try it anyway. OMG ! Their food is delicious. We had their BBQ wings which comes with 3 sides and cornbread which was amazing. One of the side items is rice and beans. The other 2 would be by choice. Cabbage, collard greens and other things. We had the mashed sweet potatoes and Mac and cheese. Very generous with their portions. They also have desserts. We got the peach cobbler. They also have cakes and banana pudding.

Honestly my food was not all to great .. However The women were polite, I ended up paying $ 56.00 dollars for beef stew ,Macaroni ,& green’s. My Macaroni & cheese was burnt! I had two big bones in the stew with no meat also too much rice! The cake was really dry I assumed from it being in the fridge for so long! Then my sister placed an order for Oxtails, green’s, & macaroni . She stated her Banana pudding look like it was sitting for days!!! It did not taste to great over all why was it so costly if it wasn’t even good! (((I was very disappointed!!!!!! )))

My first time here and I am glad we stopped in. I got a mixture of everything so we got a nice sampling. The meatloaf was banging! OMG, that was my favorite! The ribs were pretty good.The salmon was good, but small. The fish was very good, I really liked it. Now the sides were huuuge portions, and we tore them up. The cornbread served was pretty good, also. I really enjoyed the atmosphere and will definitely be coming back. Oh, yeah all our dinners were “large” so that might be why the sides were so big. I don’t know you’ll have to find out yourselves, lol.
