We ate in the original house. Had the choice of eating on the front porch, but it was a bit buggy. We loved eating inside this beautiful old house. The pot roast and chicken pot pie were delicious with sides of garlic mash potatoes, butternut squash, a roll and corn bread.

Wonderful, historic spot! The pot roast was tender and delicious. The server/bartender was attentive and kind and made sure to check in on us frequently, but not too often that we didn’t have private time. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting. We will be back!

I felt this place was so good that I got takeout here two nights in a row!

Excellent food. I had the steak frites and my friend had the Yankee pot roast. We also shared a poutine appetizer. Neither of us could finish our food but we kept picking at it until the check came after we were already stuffed because it was so good!

The gluten free fish and chips was absolutely wonderful and the Indian Pudding was a sweet treat. Everyone was amazingly friendly and out going, almost celebratory as some of the dinning was just opening after having had water pipes break during the extreme cold. They still had much work still to get done. I sure hope that all of the repairs went well as they had a significant event the next weekend.

Food is excellent. Beer is cold and food is hot nd freshly prepared. Recommend the clam chowder. Its a historic spot in the hotel.

Enjoyed some drinks at the Village Forge Tavern and loved the rustic setting and vintage colonial feel. The cocktails were inventive and seasonal, albeit a touch on the expensive side. While we did not eat, the full menu for Liberty is available at the Tavern. A great place to relax and enjoy some music and a meal.

In my neck of the woods there are lots of these types of restaurants. They’re all old and tired. They all serve what you’d expect. The Liberty at the Colonial was such a pleasant surprise.

The food and service are generally good. It loses points because the last two times my friend and I met there for lunch they walked us diagonally across the building away from the spacious and empty restaurant rooms to the two small rooms behind the inn’s reservation desk where they had all the diners jammed in together. Both times it was crowded and so loud we could barely hear each other. This last time I asked if this was the only option. The hostess glared at me and rudely/abruptly said, “Yes.” (Like, “Take it or leave it.”) Would it really hurt to open a station or two in another dining room to give diners some breathing room instead of sitting on top of each other?

Four of us went for dinner last night. Between us we had Buffalo tenders, a Flat bread, Chicken Piccata, and the Swordfish Special as well a calamari app., strawberry shortcake and chocolate cake. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. Seldom do we dine out and all thoroughly enjoy our meals. Service was prompt, courteous and well-timed, portions were generous. The setting is beautiful. We put our name in, 40-minute wait, and went to walk the bridge and to the old manse. Great way to spend an evening and fantastic meal. Perfection. We will be back!
