So today I ordered a Italian beef with sweet peppers on the side. Just a plain beef and I even repeated sweet peppers on the side . Why did I get over 20 hot peppers on the beef. It wasn’t even on the side. Ruined the entire beef because it was too spicy to eat. There went $10 down the drain.

I went to eat here with a friend on Saturday, June 24th, 2023. We both had the gyro meal, which was very good. The food is made fresh as you order it. The place was extremely busy, so many others love Sammies food too. There aren’t too many places like this around anymore, so hurry over and enjoy their delicious fresh food.

I grew up on the North West side by Portage Pk. and we used to ride our bikes to Sammies little stand to buy “Gravy Bread” for a quarter. It was French bread dipped in the beef juice it was cheap and we loved it. But when your talking HOT DOGS I might be partial but Sammie’s WINS HANDS DOWN! Other joints might have hand cut fries but Sammie’s adds an extra condiment that as far as I know no one else adds, no it’s NOT KETCHUP. Along with the usual mustard, onions, bright green relish, tomatoes, pickle, sport peppers and celery salt on a poppy seed bun Sammie’s adds fresh cucumbers and believe me it makes all the difference in the world. Sammie’s is no longer in the city and that’s fine cause neither am I so they have several locations that I can still enjoy their dogs at. Give one a try, you’ll see the difference. Always a great experience! Staff are very friendly and helpful! My family and I frequent this establishment and love just about everything on the menu. The Italian beef and burger are exceptional! The Italian beef is one of the best in the area. Very high quality and authentic Chicago tasting. The decor and atmosphere is warming and inviting as my children enjoy looking around at the memorabilia on the walls. I posted a picture of my last Italian beef ordered from here on a chicago style beef group on Facebook and it has received nearly 200 likes and comments from all over the country!
