We liked this place. We exited freeway looking for Rudy’s and decided to stop here instead. It turned out to be great decision. Food was great and staff is really friendly and helpful with choices from the menu. Mac & cheese from kids menu was small for our 7 year old so if you have kid with healthy appetite consider getting side portion. We enjoyed our dinner and will be back soon.

The short ribs were outstanding. Not only were they flavorful, but succulent at just the right spots. Everyone dived right in and I’m sorry to say I don’t have a very good photo. Later the same week I went to the legendary Hutchins barbecue in Plano and if I may be very honest, I’d say that the ribs from a C&J barbecue are much more to my taste.

Good standard bbq plate. The brisket and ribs were the best. Green beans were too buttery for me but fried okra was great. Corn was a bit bland. Don’t skip the sweet n tangy pickles. They have burnt ends in the back if you ask!

I was really disappointed. I ordered a slice beef sandwich from the moist end. I got a dried wicker beef, Jerkey thing with fat. It also tasted like someone poured a pound of salt on it. I don’t know if the kids there were playing a joke on me. But they sure were laughing at some joke someone said. I know it’s hard to hire good help, and I’m sure they won’t mind killing a business. After all, it’s not theirs, and they can get a job anywhere else. I will never return to this place again.

C&J Keeps On Producing Great Q, Year After Year. Is there any wonder they’ve been voted best barbecue in Brazos Valley for the past 20 years? Since I don’t live in B/CS, I haven’t been there in a few years. Went today, got the 3-meat plate with brisket, jalapeño/cheese sausage, and pork belly. It was all great! You can never go wrong with their brisket!

I have visited this location a few times and was not that happy with the cut of brisket I had been given. When I’ve asked for marble before, I felt ignored and received lean cuts instead. This, leaving me with a half eaten plate. I returned to give the place another chance, more like the third time, and finally they listened. This was the best plate so far. I can’t say it’s the best in town but if the craving hits then here’s your place.

This was our one BBQ stop while in Texas, and it was perfect. Our big group didn’t have to wait in line, the brisket and links were sublime, and we were surprised at how much meat we got for the money – I love reverse sticker-shock!

Customer Service Sucks at the Harvey Road location!!!! I had my eyes dilated so I sent my granddaughter in with a $25 gift certificate to get 2 baked potatoes not knowing you had to use the whole thing. When she told me I lost the difference I sent her back in to get some side dishes to make up the difference. She was treated badly and it took forever!! I have given these gift certificates as gifts before but if this is the way customers are treated I won’t do that again!! And maybe I’ll try one of the other locations next time.
