This place is really a hidden gem in Shawnee. The wait staff was very friendly and even though we arrived 5 minutes before the grill closed, the food was excellent and the portions were great! It’s a very casual environment and kid-friendly with some bar games like battleship and connect 4 to keep them entertained. The jenga set needs replacing but overall it’s a great place!

I strictly came here because my name is Betty and my last name starts with a C. So it was fate. I was expecting a lot from this place based on the good reviews. However, it just seemed like a normal bar to me with average bar food. The Jamaican flavored wings tho are amazing and very spicy . Much good flavor there. Other than not, nothing special and just average.

The bartender working on 2/21 was unbelievably rude and callus. She ignored me at the bar multiple times and spent the entire evening talking w her friends- never caring to help serve those of us hoping for drinks. There were 9 of us in the entire bar, so she wasn’t busy. She made choices multiple times not to address us when we approached the bar- although she glanced our way and seemed to always see us there. She also lit up two cigarettes and smoked them behind the bar- inside! We’ve been here before and our experience was nothing like this. What a bad night for Betty’s!

This is the best bar in KC, dive or not. Huge variety of people, fun atmosphere, and everyone is NICE. Like, every single person. No, the food isn’t the greatest, just typical deep-fried frozen stuff, but the service with a smile makes up for it. Betty’s always a joyous experience. Mean people, stay away, you are not welcome here (but you might walk out a changed person).
