This location is the first automated store for Sweetgreen in the nation. You walk in, order at the kiosk on a tablet and pay yourself. The salad dispensing equipment is front and center in plain sight so you can watch the bowls be made. The cooler and prep area are transparent so you can see all the behind the scenes work. Good selection of different bowls but may take you a time or two to find something that you personally enjoy the most. Give it a try, if nothing else you’ll get to see the automation concept at work.

Nice place once you figure out the ordering system. This is kind of the restaurant of the future in my mind. Only problem I ran into was that their POS system couldn’t process a gift card. It had to be done manually which took some time.

The salad display quality is low here compared to other stores; my chicken and avocado were not sliced up. Although, the salad was tasty! I had the guacamole greens. I would’ve given this 5 stars if my ingredients weren’t humongous.

I ordered a side a sweet potatoes and green goddess salad. The first thing I noticed was the white hair in my salad. The food presentation with automated service did not anything but greens. Kinda disappointed was excited because I love the Hyde park location.

My salad was really delicious! They have a very unique selection of salads and warm bowls to choose from + nice fresh ingredients. I had the chicken pesto parm and the flavor was great. My friend really enjoyed her bowl as well. It’s a self-service kind of place – no front-end staff. You order from a touch-screen monitor and the kitchen staff make your salad. I only had to wait a few minutes for mine. Seating is limited but they do have a couple of booths and a few tables. My friend and I lucked out and got a booth. We noticed that a lot of people get takeout. I would definitely come again.

Love everything I order here. I always order using the app before going & food is ready in minutes. I come at least twice a week so I decided to become a rewards member. Glad there is a healthy fast food restaurant in the Midwest with great quality ingredients. Hopefully they will expand to more locations & provide drive thrus 🙂

Update 8/3: We’ve now been here 4X. Food is still great, but I don’t think they care about the cleanliness of the restaurant. Food containers everywhere, bathroom is gross and no toilet paper. Just focus on a clean restaurant for heaven sake. It’s not that hard to take 5 minutes every half hour and clean up. It’s really setting a bad image.

Sweetgreen is my favorite quick serve restaurant, ever! It’s not often you get quality ingredients in salads that are actually good for you and not just a basic bland salad. The robot functionality is LIGHTNING fast, and fresh…delicious every time!

We ordered 1 salad and 1 warm bowl. The salad was very heavy on the greens, with little of other ingredients. The bowl added very very little quantity of the ingredients that I paid extra for. It was okay overall. Ingredients tasted fresh but the portions made the experience mediocre.
