While searching for quality BBQ in the area around Ft Rucker this fine establishment popped up on my Google search. From the second I saw the building in the search it screamed BBQ to me. The atmosphere inside was simple and decorated with many pictures of service members from Ft Rucker. The hostess/waitress was very kind and attentive. She provided us with all the sweet tea we could drink. The BBQ was great, you could tell that it was cooked by someone who mastered the craft of BBQ. Not over seasoned and perfectly smokey. The pulled pork was tender and moist and married very well with offered sauces. The chicken plate came as two chicken quarters again seasoned very well and perfectly smoked. The best part of the meal were the pork ribs. They were individually cut which made for easy eating and the dry rub was fantastic. They were juicy and tender with just the right amount of fatty rib goodness. They were amazing with or without sauce. The sides we chose were both beans and coleslaw both of which were great. This place was a hidden treasure for us traveling a long way from home. Big Daddy himself was in the kitchen and was very friendly and appreciative of our buisness. We promised to tell our friends about him and his great little BBQ joint. I’m very glad we were able to find it and if I ever find myself in the area again I will definitely visit.

Maaaannnnn let me tell you. This barbecue was sent from the bbq gods. If you haven’t had this, you’re missing out. Just an overall amazing restaurant with friendly service. I highly recommend. The baked beans is absolutely my favorite. I would post a picture but I’m almost done with all of my food. Shoot I might still post a picture. I’m usually not a big bbq fan. But by golly, this is amazing.

I tried to order food for tonight’s dinner. I just started asking about getting 2 slabs of ribs which would be 2 orders. I had to talk to Big Daddy himself and I would have to pay cash today and receive the, tomorrow. I don’t understand because if I came in with my husband and sat down we would be ordering 1 slab for him and 1 slab for me. Would we be told we couldn’t have them? I tried or ding yesterday and all they had was chicken so that why I tried to order these as soon as they open at 11:30 am. I’m really disappointed. No where on their web site does it say you have to pay CASH, because he doesn’t have credit card machine.

We love Big Daddy’s! The price is always right. And the amount ya get is superb! We have yet to find any fat in Big Daddy’s bbq. Great folks and a nice place to just eat and enjoy. And you can even sit outside and eat on the long benches, while enjoying the shade and nature. Love it! I will keep coming back.

Decided to treat my Mother-in-law to some good ol BBQ and we weren’t disappointed at all! Everything was delicious! I ordered the pork plate with baked beans, potato salad and sweet tea for $15. We’ll definitely be coming back for more of that deliciousness and for more of that sweet tea that was the bomb dot com!

I’m by no means a bbq expert, but I know what tastes good and what doesn’t and the food here definitely tastes good. The pork was moist with just the right amount of bark and the ribs had the most amazing rub that had a hint of sweet and was flavorful enough to eat without sauce. The waitress was a down to earth, warm, and friendly as was Big Daddy who was in the kitchen. They don’t have a crazy expansive menu but they do what they offer well. Drink options are sweet or unsweetened tea and water. The inside is definitely like you’re in someone’s southern home.

Loved the barbeque and service! I ordered the pork platter and the pork and beans were delicious. I would have liked a few more options for side dishes and the rice that came with it was only ok. However the barbeque and friendly service made up for it and I will come again in the future!
