Well done Tex Mex with a great happy hour! I got the veggie plate and it was delicious & a big portion. My food came out quickly and the restaurant was clean. They do take cards which I saw in earlier reviews that they used to not. Indoor & outdoor seating, order at the counter.

This place has the best soup and roast chicken, and Julio and Stella are the bee’s knees. Not your typical heavier Mexican food, it is comforting, delicious and such a great neighborhood joint. I’ve been coming here a long time and will continue to do so. A Hyde Park institution!

The atmosphere is chill and laid back. The photos around the place are really nice. They have a small coffee bar that you serve yourself. They only offer milk and creamer. I ordered the migas plain with flour tortillas. The migas come with tomatoes onions and cilantro. The tortillas in the migas were nice and crispy but cut way too small. The egg to tortilla ratio is way off. Too much egg for my liking. That being said the flavor is ok. The portions are quite large. The salsa is not good. It’s just tomato sauce it’s not spicy at all. I found a carrot in there, I thought that was weird. The fruit that it came with was delicious. Nice and ripe. The coffee was also good. It was super fresh.

Service was friendly but slow. Came in around dinner time so that’s more than understandable.

I come here anytime I get the chance. Everything is great. They take cards now and it’s counter service. It’s everything I want for a perfect solo quick workday lunch–fast, friendly, and they leave you alone. Takeout is good too. My favorites are the roasted chicken plate with refried beans, chicken soup, or breakfast migas plate if you’re there early. All come with two tortillas so order more if you’re extra hungry.

Nice little neighborhood restaurant, good quality food at reasonable prices (especially for Austin). Judging by the number of locals from the neighborhood who were there (it was mostly full for 11:30am on a Monday) the neighbors have embraced it. Plenty of parking, adequate seating both indoors and out.

Been coming here since I was a child. Food is consistently delicious and served by lovely people. Best green tomatillo enchiladas and Mexican martini I’ve ever had!
