Best sushi anywhere! Love the tuna poke, very fresh. Fish is always very fresh. Never had anything I haven’t loved here and I think I have tried just about everything on sushi menu. My children love the chicken fried rice! On my son’s birthday they made him a special plate of fruit and ice cream with candles and sparklers. Great place for kids or adults.

My daughter and I just attempted to eat dinner at Hanabi’s in Prospect. I explained to the waitress that my daughter was a strict vegan and that I am a vegetarian. She then recommended the vegetable rolls, which we ordered. I asked her if she was certain there were no animal products or dairy in the rolls. She assured me there were only vegetables.

We love the sushi chef at Hanabi. His sushi rolls are always delicious and it’s great for a quick lunch. The kids always beg to go to the Hibachi grill, which is a great option for larger groups or with kids!

This was the worst experience I have had while dining out in a long time. We dined there once at the Hibachi table.. Since none was there,I should have not had my family dress up for a night out to a restaurant. Food was really good. My daughter caught a glimpse of the private tables and wanted to go back too sit in there. We went back and they assured us that we can still have the hibachi cooking style. We sit down and our teenage waiter (which is all they seem to hire) should have been told by his parents that he should try a different field of work. He started by messing up coke with root beer 3 different times and that was only the beginning. We ordered our dinners and waited 25 minutes for our microwaved soup. Another 10 minutes for the salads, My appetizer showed up with the cold dinners that WERE NOT cooked hibachi style even though I asked 4 times to be sure. Let me get back to the appetizer.. Shrimp and vegetable tempura. Now, I know I am used to authentic food (being from New York) and I did not expect much…but that display of”Tempura was pitiful. It was served in a dive bar style basket and there were like 4 ugly pieces of whatever. Didn’t taste bad just pitiful in every other way. The filet mignon was cold and it WAS NOT filet. After trying to spice up the bland and very sticky fried rice,it was edable..so I at least I didn’t leave starving. My daughter felt horrible because she chose to sit in that room to make matters worse. The young ,very inexperienced boy server did not know how to handle this situation just walked away and made it like,”Oh your food is cold?OH, o.k. sorry” . Then the woman owner came in to explain to me ( person who has been eating at the finest Japanese restaurants in New York City all of my life) how eating food from the hibachi table is unhealthy and only people who know how to eat healthy sit in these tables (where you take off your shoes and place your feet on their dirty floor). Then they must have thought I was some kind of loser who wanted a free meal and the boy came in every 2 seconds to make sure he got the money for the bill. We paid and left only to be said goodbye to from the very happy UNKNOWING husband owner behind the bar (the only one in the restaurant who had any type of personality anyhow) had no idea about this situation with my food which got all the rest of the workers all aflutter. We saw the little chef back there peeking his head out looking at the people (US) who complained about the awful food. OH, not to mention, they severed the meals in these really nice compartment dishes with EMPTY COMPARTMENTS!!! lol…what a joke..My daughter said the empty parts were dirty as well.Anyhow ,when we got home we took bets on how much longer they will be open. no one figures anymore than 6 months TOPS. Good luck guys

Service is awful. The food quality at Hanabi has gone down. As a fan of Kitchen Nightmares, I could hear Gordon Ramsey doing an intervention here. The Prospect dining scene is generally awful, which is probably why this place stays in business.

Best Sushi in town. Highly recommend sitting at the sushi bar itself for the best service. Get a Tuna Poki medium. It’s tuna, chopped tomato, chopped avocado, cilantro and Tien’s special sauce.

I can’t speak for lunch/dinner here, but breakfast is outstanding! The Prospect Breakfast Club currently serves breakfast here Thursdays through Sundays, 0700-1400. Definitely worth a visit.

Been coming here since it opened, a little bit on the expensive side, but the food is worth it. The chef is really nice and I hope to continue coming here until I go to college. ( Maybe even then if I work here)
