Super friendly and fantastic food. Eating from here was a great idea! It was filling and delicious for the price. I would say that is better BBQ food than some of the places in Des Moines and Chicago. My wife and I each got a 2 meat platter, which came with a side and a piece of Texas toast.

Swung by this little town and wanted something local. Owners Julie and Todd are wonderful. It’s right in the heart of downtown Belle Plaine, Iowa. The atmosphere is train related which is pretty cool. Very clean restaurant and restroom. The menu is very straightforward and the prices are very affordable. It’s a really great place. But the best part is their food. Had the 3 Meat sliders with smoked sausage, pulled pork, and brisket. WOW!!! Top 3 brisket on my list. Championship quality meat, flavor, and tenderness. However, the smoked sausage was even better. I’ve had smoked sausage in all parts of this country and I don’t think I’ve ever had better. Nearly brought a tear to my eyes because it’s exactly how smoke sausage should be served. The pulled pork was tender and juicy and finished off the meal perfectly. I would highly recommend everyone in the area or anyone passing by to stop in and support this amazing locally owned restaurant. I would also recommend going to competitions with this food. Belle Plaine I hope you know what you have here in this place. Oh yeah the honey BBQ and Chipotle BBQ sauces were top notch!

We accidentally stumbled on this place while driving through the area. Boy are we glad we stopped!! Best BBQ we’ve had, hands down. Our server was so friendly, and the food was fantastic. We’ll remember this place!

What an amazing place with amazing food. The portions are hearty an the owners very friendly. They deliver in the Belle Plaine area an would even meet halfway to Chelsea for a to go order. Highly recommend, will be back!!! Thank You!!!

Firebox in Main is great Texas BBQ in small town Iowa. I love the railroad theme as a huge railroad nerd. Food was excellent. A tad overpriced for what you get. A side is 3$ and it comes in a little cup you can finish in like two spoon fulls. Other than that, it’s great food and definitely worth a stop if you are in the area.

Opening day went great!! Clean, great staff. Pulled pork was awesome!! Portions were good. Place was warm inside but once doors were opened cooled down quickly. Limited options for now, full menu in a few weeks, can’t wait !! Definitely will be back!!!
