It was nice to discover a more elegant restaurant in a small village of Texas (Round Top).

In Round Top there are not many places to eat on Wednesdays. So, we went to Lulu’s for an early (5:30 PM) dinner and we’re glad we did. It was 102° outside, under the subdued lighting in the bar at Lulu’s it was cool and comfortable and we were the crowd. We had the bar to ourselves. The young bartender was local, articulate and fun to talk to, the atmosphere was great and the food was good: we had the bucatini all’amatriciano and the braised beef short ribs and a couple glasses of very decent wine. Altogether a very enjoyable experience.

Very quaint and pretty restaurant! Service from Maria was great and the preset Valentine’s menu was delicious! It was a bit TOO quiet though. We felt like we had to be extremely subdued. Great food, but pricey. All in all though we really enjoyed ourselves!

It was ok. I ordered the caviar only because I was intrigued about the presentation. I was hoping it would have been a better more fresh quality. I did enjoy the burrata and beat salad as well as the lobster risotto. At the time of paying the waiter stated that one of the $100 Visa gift cards our group used was not working so I gave her a hundred dollar bill only to find out that there was actually a pending transaction of $100 on the card. Not a very nice or ethical thing to do. I’m guessing it happens quite often because of the tourism. They figure they won’t see you again so they don’t care…..

We had a wonderful dinner while visiting Round Top, TX for the antique show. Easily made reservations online and enjoyed the apps and entrees. We had the calamari that had a sweet and spicy sauce accompanied by fried jalapeños. We got the burrata and roasted beets, very refreshing combination. Everyone was thrilled with their entrees the lamb perfectly cooked, the lobster ravioli overflowing with additional lobster, and the tenderloin seared to perfection.

Glad we dined here to enjoy the unique, old world feel of this rustic yet lively space. Comfy little bar too. Reservations advised. Their food is fresh and their menu compact so they might run out of some items on busy weekends…which is understandable. The lamb chops were super and the lobster ravioli tasty as well…and the octopus also. Yes the service is a bit slow at peak times but they are friendly and attentive. The main room w all the wood and stone can get a bit loud but that’s fine by me. I would give 4.5 stars if possible, but not a 5 as two of our dishes were not hot, and I found it odd that the Caesar had the lemon on the side instead of in the dressing already. But hey, these are just little things…as the meal was delicious. Will definitely try them again.

We loved it. Half-filled, yet respectfully quiet. Wedding party (straight out of Yellowstone) escorted to back event room set the scene perfectly.

The Risotto Di Portafino was not good at all. Way overpriced for what it is: Menu says “lobster tail” but all we got was a few over cooked chunks of lobster with under cooked risotto (soggy). Honestly I don’t know why we didn’t send it back. The waiters were confusing and confused. Some of the dishes that our friends ordered were cold. And apparently, if you order the calamari rings, they charge you extra for the marinara sauce. The place was neat inside….but that’s about all it’s got going at the moment. I do not recommend!

elegant classy. amazing chef. the menu is small , keeping choices varied. You just can’t order dishes that are not fabulous. A hidden gem. We drive 45 mins to the country just for this experience.

We shared a nice brunch on Sunday at 11am. Had a reservation at 1230p but arrived when they opened and were seated right away. Service was easy going and not rushed. Enjoyed a lovely large Aperol Spritz and an espresso before diving in to our lovely brunch plates. Enjoyed the Tortilla Espanol and the Almost American Breakfast with the farm fresh eggs and a super flavorful squash caponata. Very nice restaurant. Bright and fresh.
